Hey T, It's funny you say this, my BN had a scrape that looks exactly the same as the scrape that your Pleco has, he was looking fine everything was healing up all by itself, then got up one morning to find him DEAD, hmmm not to sure what caused this, but may pay you to treat as I never, and possibly if I had he may still be here. Well, I'd have to agree with you Tanksman, Don't always believe what the shop assistant tells you, they are there to make a sale remember, if you are Lucky, you may get an assistant that does have some Knowledge of Fish, as far as I am concerned they really shouldn't have a job in a Fishy Shop, if they have no knowledge of Fish Keeping. So do lots and lots of research, before buying the Fish you are wanting. My gudness 38Ltrs, hmmm not a very big tank at all to be housing these 2 wee Fishys. :-? :-? :-? :-? Happy Fish Keeping :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: Lynda

Ohhh Evil, Really Sorry to hear about your Cockatoo, really hope you get it all sorted soon, as to what the problem is. Have you done Water Tests as Caryl suggested, maybe those will tell you what the problem is. :-? :-? :-? :-? Good Luck with the rest of your little fishies a. :bounce: :bounce: Lynda

Hi Gizmo, Hmmm, so you decided to go Tropical then, Good choice I gottta say, I've got a 4ft Tropical Community Tank, with lots of different Fishies in it, Golden Gourami's, Breeding Angels, etc, Just keep in mind if you wanting to get some Silver Sharks, they do grow rather large. Had a couple of these in my tank and they out grew may tank pretty quickly. Hope you enjoy your new fishies. :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: Lynda

Hi Tanksman, I was always told, that Tiger Barbs should be keep in a group of 6-8, by being in a group of this size, they tend to stick together and socialise with each other, rather than annoying any of your other Fishy's. Lynda

WOOHOO, Congrats Anthony, on your Betta's breeding, do hope it all goes well. The Girl should be taken out of the tank after the eggs have been laid, otherwise this can result in death by the Male. I think the Breathing Organ, Evil was talkin about is called the Labarinth, I'm sure there will be someone out there who will correct me if I'm wrong. Anywayz Good Luck :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: Lynda

Ohh Gizmo, Really, Sorry to hear that Ruperts health has deteriated, and that an appointment has been made to see the Vet. Just remember, sometimes we have to do these things, too help our little Fishy Friends out, far better for him to go this way, than to suffer A. My thoughts are with u at this very sad time. Lynda

Hi there djay, To clean the gravel before you add it to your tank, you can either boil it or if it has come out of another tank, just give it a good clean with lots of water, the same goes for any ornamemts that you mave have that you are wanting to clean, you can use a small brush on these too if you wanted. Happy Fishing :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: Lynda

Hi BenAKL, Welcome to the FNZAS Forums and Congratulations on the purchase of your first tank, believe me it may be your first, but I'm sure it wont be your last.  Good to hear that you are not adding to many Fishys to your Tankies to start with, as I am sure you have been told about cycling your tank, and that this can be done by adding a small number of Fishys to begin the cycling process. It is also a good idea to have a Test Kit, to test the parameters of the water that your Fishy's are living in, so it can be kept in Tip Top Condition.Good Water Conditions means less Fishy Problems. You say you are wanting to add some Fighters to your tank, not sure about the males and females together, in the wild the only time these Fishy's get together is to mate, so the only time they should be kept together is if you are wanting to breed them, and then this should only be when the male has made a bubble nest and the female has then laid her eggs, the female should then be removed from the tank, if she is not removed it could end in the death of the female. If you are wanting to have the two females together they will be fine but the male must be kept in a jar floating in the tank or a special little tank of his own, the only time male and female should come together is to mate. Maybe do a search to get abit more info on this before you go ahead and add all three fishys together. Remember if you have any fishy questions that you need answering I am sure there will be someone here that will be able to help. Happy Fishing :bounce: :bounce: Lynda

Keep up the Great work Evil, Sounds as tho it's all coming together nicely. Lynda

Hi showtime, As far as I know, the more movement you have on the water surface could mean faster loss of CO2, as the water is stirred up this releases the CO2 into the air instead of keeping it in the water where it needs to be for it to be able to do the job it was put in there for. Maybe try moving the Spraybar abit below the water surface, see how that goes. I'm sure there will be someone else out there that will be able to fill you in on some helpful info. Happy Fishing :bounce: :bounce: Lynda

Hi Gizmo, Great to hear, your Oscar has found a new Lease of Life, :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: Hmmm, maybe he knew what was around the corner do you think. You'll probably find the Salt that you added to the tank has done wonders, just hoping it stays that way. Keep us posted on how he's doing. Lynda

Hi Blue, The Flipper, looks similar to the Nutrafin Bubble counter, which personally I found a right pain, especially if the plants had a tendency to loose there leaves, get a small piece of leaf matter in the bubble counter and it stuffs up the whole process. The reactor looks rather interesting, and they saying it's 100% effective. Does this have to be used with anything else? Lynda
