  1. Hi David, Sorry, not going to be of much help to you here, I have used the Sera Products before, but not the Nitrate Test Kit, Nitrates should be kept around 40 or lower if possible I think it is, So more water changes and more frequently, You may also want to test the Nitrate Level of the water that you are putting back into the tank, as this can also be High in Nitrates, Not sure why you have to use boiled filtered water with this test, Hmmm, I'm abit confused there. :-? :-? :-? Maybe wait and see if some-one else here has used the Sera Nitrate Test Kit, and see what there advise is, I think alot of people use the Aquarium Pharmaceuticals Freshwater Test Kit. Anywayz Good Luck and hope you get it sorted. :bounce: :bounce: Lynda

    cat wormer?

2 fishy, Are these worms actually coming from the fish???? There are little white worms that are called Planaria, which is often caused by over feeding. These little worms are harmless to the fishys in the tank and will subside if you cut down on the feeding. Might want to check with the customer before treating the whole and and the fishys. Good Luck Lynda

  8. Hi Quark-VI, I got this Sera CO2 unit from Levin Petworld, Wet Pets in Palmy also stocks them, they are about $80 for the Starter Pack, then you pay round $15 for the Tablets. Have had great success with this unit, only thing i'm not to sure about is the fluctuations in the levels of CO2, not sure id this is a good thing. Good Luck Lynda

  11. Hey Misnoma, I would suggest, you invest in a couple of Clown Loaches, they absolutely LOVE these little snails, if I had any snails in my tankies, they wouldn't be there for long, the Loaches clean them out pretty quick. Good Luck Lynda

    cat wormer?

Hi 2fishy, I think I read somehwere, that you use Drontal, which is a Dog Wormer. Maybe use the Search feature on the FNZAS site, not the Google and this should give you some answers. Good Luck Lynda

    Tiger barbs!

Hi Caper, I have my Tiger Barbs in a Comm Tankies with Black Neons, WCMM, Zebra Danios, Gouramis, Angels, Golden Barbs, Kribs, Rosy Barbs and lots of other Fishies. My Tiger Barbs never seem to bother the other fishys at all. As I said before, maybe the bigger the group of Tiger Barbs the better they will be, as they all seem to stick together in their own little group. Good Luck with yours. Lynda
  17. Hi fishkeepa, Really Sorry to hear about your Mollie, Just keep a close eye on the Mollie that has the ripped fins, if you see any Fungus starting to develop, then it may pay for you to Medicate. Good Luck Lynda

    Tiger barbs!

Hi Caper, I have just put 9 Tiger Barbs into my 4ft Community Tank, they have been in there for a couple of weeks now and I haven't had any problems with them at all. Maybe the bigger the group, the more they seem to keep each other amused. I think it would be nice to have just a Tankies full of Tiger Barbs as Jude has as these are colourful little Fishies and a big group of them on there own would look really effective. Good Luck Lynda

    Natives

What size Tank have you got Raul, How many of these Torrent Fish were you planning on putting in this tank. The torrent fish or shark bully, Cheimarrichthys fosteri (papanoko of the Maori), is the only known species of its family (Cheimarrichthydae). About 4 in. in length, coloured light grey with dark diagonal markings it frequents rapids and fast-flowing streams, after spending its larval life in or near the sea. The bullies or gobies (Gobiomorphidae) make up the last group of native fish. Six species are contained in the two general Gobiomorphus and Philypnodon. The better known of these are G. basalis, the common “cockabullyâ€; G. radiata, the redfin bully; G. gobioides, the giant bully (reaching 9 in. in length); and P. hubbsii, the bluegill bully. Normally regarded as only a drab grey, many of the bullies have quite attractive colour patterns. Most are 3–5 in. in length. Bullies are widely distributed throughout New Zealand. http://www.loaches.com/river_tank.html Bit more info here that you may find interesting. Good Luck Lynda
