  1. ***This is a repost from Freshwater section*** Help! We have a Flame Dwarf Gourami and a couple of days ago, we spotted what looks like a pinkish zit that stretches from next to its mouth to in front of the eye. It came on suddenly and it doesn't seem to be an injury. Behaviour is otherwise normal and it's still eating. Eversince then, we have been putting half a teaspoon of Malafix into the tank each day. Any ideas what is it? Will email a pic if it helps.

  3. thank you so much for all that info
  4. Thanks. Will have a look at the shops as soon as possible.
  5. We have just got a Siamese Fighting Fish (Betta Splendens) a couple of days ago. I have just noticed that there are a couple of splits in its fins. Is this normal? I have read in several websites that the fins could have been split by sharp objects in the tank, but I just don't see any in the tank. Could the fish be stressed? I don't think it's fins are nipped by other fish. We've got a dwarf gourami, which seems to be ok with the fighting fish, and a couple of khulis and a couple of bristlenoses.

    Ammonia

thanks everyone for their advice. I'll ease up on the water changes and see what happens. No, the tank has not been cycled before. It's a new tank. Guess it would take a couple of weeks more.

    Ammonia

We've had our tank for about a month now, and still the ammonia level is rather high. (4.0 mg/l). We've done 20% water changes almost every other day and still it remains high. Help!

    Aggression

Yea, well I took one of the fish back, the aggressive one, and now it seems fine with the replacement. I got the fish from Pupuke.

    Aggression

We just bought ourselves 2 flamed dwarf gouramis and one of them seems to be rather aggressive towrds the other one. We have an AR380 AquaOne Tank (38l). Is the tank too small for them? Or are they just "playing? Should we take the aggressive one back to the shop? or should we just leave them for a few days to see what happens? Help! By the way, we've have got 2 kuhlis and 2 bristlenoses. They are somewhere round the back. Have not seen the kuhlis for awhile now.
