  3. Have lost 5 of my precious Bunnys to Calicivirus about a month ago Only have dad left now so will be no more Bunnys for me I was told if they are vaccinated, and they have contact with wild rabbits, the chance of my rabbbits getting calicivirus was still very high. We live on a 1 1/2 acre lifestyle block with a few wild rabbits running around, so I'm thinking this is where my bunnys have picked up this deadly virus. I'm not allowed any contact with rabbits for the next 110 days I'm told. Please Please everybody vaccinate your Pet Rabbit, I would hate for your rabbit to go through what mine went through if they contract this Virus. Had an autopsy done on the last Rabbit I lost, which was the female of my breeding pair, Liver showed signs of Calicivirus, Autopsy cost $300 but I HAD to know what killed them, so I'm pleased I now have an answer to why i lost 5 rabbits in a matter of 24 hours. I would strongly advise anyone who has a rabbit or is thinking of getting a rabbit, DO NOT GET ONE if you live out in the country or anywhere else where there is the chance of your rabbit having contact with a wild rabbit. There is a very high chance that your Rabbit will contract the calicivirus. Lyndyloo

  8. Think I took all of the Pingu Guppies They are absolutely gorgeous :bounce: :bounce: Never had Orange Chromides before either, they're such a cute active little Fish, they look nice and bright in the Tank.
  9. Fish travelled very well thanks Got the AquaOne AR620T all set up and running smoothly, all the Fishys look very happy and healthy in their new home :bounce: :bounce: Fish in this Tank are: 10 Serpae's, 45 Neon's, 10 Harlequins, 2 Orange Chromides, 2 Blue Rams, 10 Male Guppies, 5 Female Guppies, 15 Swordtails male and Female. If anybody is wondering why I have put these fish in a newly set up Tank, I've used stones and water from a tank that is still running and I'm breaking down at the moment Lyndyloo
  10. Everything is Xrayed at Wellington Airport :-? :-?
  11. Hey phoenix44, I've just worked out who you are, had a nosey on your bebo page :-) I meet you at animates yesterday, I was the lady that bought the 2 Aquaone tanks, and the 40 Neons and more, that Robin was bagging up, you came over and helped him bag them up, as I bought quite a few other fish aswell. Have to say the service at Animates was fantastic, couldn't have asked for anything better, great how you all work together as a team and nothing is ever a problem. No doudt you will be seeing me again sometime soon Lyndyloo
  12. Have finally decided to go with an Aquaone 980 and an Aquaone AR620T Set up the AR620T last night looks great I'm really thrilled with it :bounce: :bounce: Fishys seem more than happy Decided against the Juwels, I think they are over priced, there are also a few other things I didn't like about them, the Tank Stand is smaller the actual Tank, the Tank also has joins in the corners, more places for algae to grow, also has an internal filter which takes up alot of space which fish could be using. Ended up getting both my Tanks and Stands for less than 1 of the Juwels More than happy with what I have chosen :bounce: :bounce: Lyndyloo
  13. I was thinking the same thing Supasi yyiippee a sale, tell me when and where and I'll be there :bounce: :bounce: Lyndyloo
  14. Didn't go for the Juwel phoenix 44 I think they are highly over priced Ended up getting the 2 tanks that I looked at for less than what I would have paid for 1 Juwel tank Dont like the side joins on the Juwel Tanks, I also dont like the way the Tank stand is smaller than the actual Fish tank, another problem is they didnt have an in between tank size that i needed, I needed to fill a gap of about 76cm for the smaller Tank in the Family Room, Juwel only had a 82cm or a 121cm, so both of those wouldn't have worked either. Got one of the new Tanks set up lat night, an Aquaone AR620T absolutely love it. Just waiting for the AquaOne 980 to arrive, yyiippee cant wait, then I can get my Discus sorted. Lyndyloo
  15. Hi Zev, It's Great to be back :bounce: :bounce: Lyndyloo

    Discus

Hi Bilbo and Ryan Thanks for your replies to my thread, as a first time Discus Keeper I thought I would ask all the questions I could think ofe before I got my Discus. I thought it was better to get smaller fish but obviously I'm wrong, thought they would be alot easier to ship if they were smaller. Would be great if I could borrow your book Bilbo, think I have alot more learning to do before I get some Discus. I totally agree about the Neons, with them dying for what seems to be no apparent reason, just thought they are half the price of Cardinals which meant I could have alot more of them than the Cardinals, $9 for a Cardinal compared to $3 for a neon is quite a difference, maybe I could start out with some Neons then slowly replace them with Cardinals as they die off. By the time I buy a couple of new tanks with heaters, plants, fish etc it's going to be getting up there in the $$$$ department so cant have at all at once I guess. Going Fishy Tank shopping tomorrow yyiippee I cant wait. Look forward to any other tips you can give me :bounce: :bounce: Have wanted Discus ever since I got my first tank, but thought I would start off with something abit more simple before I moved onto the more complex fish. Lyndyloo

Are they hard fish to keep?? Any tips on Discus keeping would be great Lyndyloo
