Has anybody got or had one of these filters?? Have come across this one on Trade Me, dont know anything about them, but I'm thinking they are very similar to the Aqua One 2400. Has a built in UV light, which can be switched on and off when needed, they say parts are readily available and the same parts as the AquaOne 2400's. Surely I'm better to have an External Filter thats does 2400L/H compared to one that does 1000L/H, looking at putting this onto my Discus Tank which is around 250Ltrs. Let me know your thoughts Guys and Girls, I dont know alot about External Filters to be honest. Lynda

I have an AquaOne 620T and an AquaOne 980, they both state in the booklet that they are glass, so im sort of thinking yours would be glass too. Just did a google search, first one to come up was an Aqua One AR380 Glass Aquarium so I guess theres your answer

It's amasing how many people cant spell the name Cichlid or pronounce it, I was in a Pet Shop a couple of weeks back and heard the guy in there calling them chill-lids, I had to walk away before I cracked up laughing :lol: :lol: I was always told Cichlid is pronounced Sick Lid, I'm hoping this imformation I was given is correct, otherwise I have also been pronouncing it wrong after all these years :oops: :oops:

I used to breed the two in your last picture phoenix Very good parents, took them a couple of goes to work out just what they were meant to do with their Eggs, but they worked it out eventually. Unfortunately lost them Both awhile ago now, still dont know what killed them :roll:

Hi Dave and Amy, I feed them JBL NovoFex Tubifex Cubes, I usually hand feed them these, they go mad over them. I'm happy to send you some if you want to try your Discus on them, save you having to buy a container of them. Just PM me.

I've always used Fishing Line to tie Java Moss to driftwood, rocks and anything else I want it to adhere too.

I'm feeding Tetra Colourbits as their main food, aswell as Bloodworms and Tubifex which they really enjoy.

Discus are being feed at least 4 times a day, they are even happy to be hand feed now :bounce: :bounce: Have to say my Pigeon Checkerboard is a right little piggy I keep a very close eye on them at feeding times, just to make sure they are all getting something to eat Chasing of the Neons seems to have slowed down quite abit now, maybe it was just the novelty of having something new in the Tank to chase after, I have never seen Discus or Neons move that fast before :roll: :roll: They definitely aren't scared of anything, they even push my Big Hoplo Catfish out of the way if they want to eat what he has got. Everythings going good with my new Discus so far, they have settled in very well, they love Bloodworms and Tubifex worms the most, they're not so keen on Flakes.

I put my Neons in my Discus Tank yesterday afternoon, and my Discus have done nothing but harass them, I have never seen my Discus or Neons move at such a speed. Has anybody else had trouble with this?? I thought Neons or Cardinals, were meant to be ideal tank mates for Discus. My Pigeon Checkerboard is a shocker, you can actually hear him snapping at the neons as he flys into them with great speed. I'm hoping they will settle down over the next few days, have to say I was rather anixous about turning out the Tank light last night, thinking about what I might find when I turn the lights back on this morning, a few of the Neons have nips out of there tails, poor wee fellas, think if its carries on for to long I will remove the Neons into another tank. Any help is very much appreciated guys/girls

Heater was a Masterpet 250Watt

Tell me does everybody submerge there heater completely?? Went to the LFS today to buy a new heater for my Qt Tank, Hubby read on the box "Do not submerge heater past this line", so meaning the thermostat knob has to be left out of the water. I have always fully submerged all of my heaters, what do you guys do with yours?? Is it safe to fully submerge it?

Has anybody got any tips on breeding Neons I have 40 Neons at the moment, hoping to up that to 80 in the next few days, surely I can get at least one couple to breed for me out of the 80 I will have :lol: :lol: To be honest, I dont even now how to tell a Male from a Female :oops: :oops:
