  1. All the time and money spent in producing these beauties is well worth it. David ! print a big poster of those beauties for my fishroom ron
  2. I wouldn't bother making food for fighters. They only eat a little bit or should I say you should only feed them a tiny amount of food once or at most twice a day. You can feed them tiny pellets (2-3 pellet per feeding), flake (again just a tiny bit), frozen bloodworm (2-3 worms), white worms, mozzie larvae ect. The trick is to feed them till you see a slight buldge in the tummy.

    Hello :)

I think you'll have better luck getting one from sellers on Trade Me.
  4. Try your local butcher to see if he can get you ox heart.
  5. Now you got enough money for another discus  :bounce:
  6. Hi Amy, You have taken very good care of them. They look superb and healthy as by looking at the colour on them. The spotted snakeskin (sss) is spotting up nicely too. Well done and keep up the good job. ron

    You're simply the best David!
  12. 7 stress bar is a turk. SS would have 14 stress bar or at least 11. Amy, the PE keep laying but not hatching . Got a batch of the super melon x checkerboard. Size about 50cent piece and about 7 weeks old .
  13. That's why he/she is the biggest of the batch. The sibblings that I have are getting to 8-10cm in size too :bounce:
  14. I wish I have a 60cm-80cm discus to offer. It would need a monster tank  Look at the fish and count the number of vertical stress bar on it. That will tell you whether it's a SS or turk.
  15. How big are those you have in the tank now and what is the one that died(strain). I'll see if I can match the size.
  16. You can get metro from the vet or get your GP to write you a prescription for it. If the condition is too bad I would cull it. I can send you another one if you want so don't be so sad ron
  17. I'm also sorry to hear that one of them doesn't grow. Put it in a small tank own it's own and raise the temp to 31-32 with an airation in tank. Treat with metro at 1 tab per 40ltrs water. It would be perfect if your treatment tank contain 40ltrs water. Waterchange and redose daily for 5-7 day. Then slowly bring the temp back down to 28. Do not feed on first day of treatment. Start feeding a little of BW or colorbit on 2nd day.
  18. Here's one of my orange halfmoon butterfly ron
  19. I'll help him answer that since he's too busy doing waterchange  The 8 feet tank is run by a canister filter and daily waterchange of 50 %

    Hydra

higher dose of salt will kill them, at least it did for my case.
  21. A fighter tank don't have to be big. Prefer low tank , minimum to no water movement. Frequent water changes, temp 24-27 deg, feeding 1-2 times a day (DO NOT OVERFEED).
