Yes the paper on the plastic needs to be taken off. Otherwise the light will not shine through. Ron

Hi John, I'll ask around. Don't know where all the quality HM is at the moment. They all seem to dissapeared. The trouble with fancy fighters is either they flood the market or there is none to be found. Ron

I usually do a double dose for the first dose. Wait 10 - 12 hrs and do a large waterchange (>50%) before redosing (1 tab/40ltrs) for a course of 7 doses. I've found that dosing within 24 hrs will still work. hth, Ron

What's the point of soaking food when the fish is not eating? I use 500mg metro and dose 1 tab/40ltrs water after nearly complete waterchange. Redose daily after 80% waterchange for 7-10 days. Crushed the tab using a mortar and pastel into paste. Add water and grind. Tip into tank. Increase temp to 31 deg with and airstone in the tank. Don't need filter. hth, Ron

I would say it's flukes that is killing them. Keep treating them with prazi.Try to feed with live bbs if possible. Babies need harder water to grow faster so you don't need to add RO water. Cheers, Ron

true and nice ryukin are hard to come by. Didn't know you're into goldfish too

Are all the breeders (parents) true dragon? Look like a batch of throw backs from a few other tail types and the scales needs improving or are they too young. Just my opinion :dunno: Good strong colours though.

All the ponds are out in the open with bird netting over them to stop the kingfisher. They are mostly 1.2 x2.4mtrs ponds with a depth of around 450mm. Ponds without the pump going will have a very thin layer of ice on top on very cold nights. Fish seem ok.

All my orandas live in outside pond in Auckland all year round. Some winter nights the temp drops to 0 degree and they are fine. They can tolerate any temp and is fine outside in winter.

Once they go free swimming feed them with newly hatch brine shrimp 4-5 times a day. Don't need liquidfry or infusoria.
