How do I deter ducks from my new pond

I am trying to establish plants and fish in my new pond but every week the fish disappear and the plants get pulled out. I originally thought that it was the neighbours kids but I came home today to find 10 ducks in the pond creating all sorts of havoc.

The pond is about 6m x 1.5m with two thirds of it being under the second story deck.

I don't want to cover it with netting if I can avoid it.

Can anyone suggest any other deterrents that I can use

they have put those owls in the trees around palmy's square. It is funny waling through there in winter when the leaves have fallen.

There is an owl in the centre, surrounded by a metre-wide bird-free area, then all the birds perched outside of that

Ohhh come one, you know you want the alligator head!

I emailed the company and this was their reply

Thanks for your enquiry.

We have found the best deterrent to be the Gator Gard, these can be placed on and around pool edges, ducks have a inbuilt fear of these types of predators and shy away from them
