  1. Just got another black toy poodle, 7 all together now, ha ha. I'm thinking of moving to farm land where it's legal to keep that many dogs. Anyone have any idea? Close to Auckland if possible, preferance Clevedon. Rent.
  2. I love dog as much as fish. I've plenty of fishes and 6 little dogs, ha, ha. Is there a site like this for dogs? I'm seriously thinking of renting my place out, to rent a cheap farmhouse so I can go all out, lmao. Oh, again, is there a forum for dogs just like this one?
  3. Try a prolong 1/2 to 1/3 dose of acriflavin treatment with salt. It may take up to 4 weeks to recover fully. I had one (golden sunrise) just like yours, all good now but lose one of his/her eye.
  4. Have you tried feeding live brine shrimp instead of BBS flake initially? I have never tried the flake but live should be better, I think. Talking about water hardness. Is the water in NZ very soft generally? My ph do fluctuate and I stabilise them with salt. Is there any other way to stabilise Ph without using salt or baking soda?
  5. Glad you're able to get prazzi. Some medication is a must get, I hope hhff will look into metro next.
  6. I had one that ask for medication for sick goldfish with odd bruise on side (as describe). Thinking it's only comets and possibly wounds from breeding, I recomend salt with 2/3 of the normal dosage(to be safe, haha) and it's cheap and good, lol. But he came back, telling me they are dying after the salt treatment. ?????, So, I went over and to my horror, white spot on every single one. I hope they are not too weak to recover.
  7. Filtration? Breeders usually do a 90% water changes (risky) but I've done a daily 50% water changes with no issue here. Boost the temperature to 30+/- 0.5, max at 31, see if that make any difference. Do it slowly, .
  8. poker, lol. will that be consider a game?
  9. No harm throwing some salt in but keep up/increase the water changes. It's mostly due to water quality.
  10. Wow, lucky you and Congrats. I bought 3 local breeding pairs and none breed yet, lol. They are always watching the walls as if it's a mirror to see how pretty or handsome they are. :sml1:
  11. Formalin is another alternative, my personal faviorate.
  12. mad butcher and get chicken neck. They don't always sel them thou. Frankly, not sure if that's a good recomendation but that's what my friend us feed his Doberman.
  13. I do use malachite green with formalin to treat parasite for my discus which is kept at 6.8ph. Both are strong medication. Be aware some medi when mixed is toxic, an example, don't add salt if treating with formalin.
  14. I had the same problem quite awhile ago. Not too sure what went wrong, I keep losing only neons but it's alright now. I think Cardinals are the better option with discus.
  15. It's going to be a chellenge. Their combination is fantastic but there will be compromise, mainly being the temperature parameters or the type of plants. Have a quick read over this. I hope someone here that are good with plants can help us out. http://aquaticconcepts.thekrib.com/Articles/PAM_Discus.htm
  16. f you are able to confirm it's whte spot then go for white spot cure, if not then just wunder tonic, plus salt and heat(slowly) to speed up recovery. GL
  17. I found the snails love zucinni that I at times use to feed my bristonose. Weight a cut piece down with a screw to collect them. Not too sure how efficient it is to completely get them all thou, GL
  18. Yup Met blue instead of acriflavin and it's safe.
  19. I have always love planted tank but never get to do them properly. Very frankly, I'm hopeless with plants haha. Had googled a few utube video only yesterday and was blown away at their beauty. Same here, would love to do one up with discus, plus some schooling and bottom dwellers
  20. That's common and leave the nylon stocking. Progressing well, aye.
  21. Get wunder tonic, not the best but it does cover quite a wide range. At times, salt itself isn't enough. I'd recomend Wunder tonic plus salt to speed up the recovery.
  22. lol, I have some of those, drivng me crazy. I resort to remove all gravels, still I can't get rid of them totally, lol.
  23. Smart Start can still be use to reboost the bacteria growth, esp after medication, cleaning of filters where good bacteria are lost in the process. TLC optimizer may be the other option for mantaining. Did some research on them and found them very, very good indeed. For example, smart smart is 5 times more efficient than other brands. I'll be trying out their products to see how good they are, esp the optimizer. First, got to find the most populated tank, lol.
  24. Thanks. I asked because I know a GF breeder who used TLC religiously. I personally haven't tried them.
