    Jager Heaters

I have been given a Jager heater(with probably a few more to come) And noticed that it has a MAX as well as a MIN water line?????? Are they not submersible?????? Cheers P.S. Oh the model number is LZRH 300
  3. Well done, no fry from mine yet..... What's your temp/PH?????
  4. no, but they look very cool, have you got/seen them???
  5. I have 2 pairs that have both spawned in the last week (thanks ant). Hopfully fry will follow... Fingers and fins crossed
  6. Just found this on another forum, thought id share it with you all 8)
  7. WOW, what a great day, BIG thanks to All the shops in Auckland that we visited, but mainly Animal Shack who went the extra mile for us. Also thanks to Dave for putting it all together, and thanks to all that attended for making an enjoyable day...
  8. Hahaha, good to see the boy doing his job I feed them boiled zucchini, they seem to grow allot faster. Slice it, then lightly boil it, then lay the pieces out on a oven tray to freeze. Once frozen we just put it in freezer bags, saves boiling or blanching every time you want to feed the fry.

    co2

i have one of those (which i will be selling soon ) and i found it worked fine, they did take 5 minutes of fiddling around with to get right, but then they worked well. The biggest problem i had with mine is the bottle only lasts 1-2 months. Hope you get yours sorted soon
  10. VERY NICE I have noticed that with most apisto's, they they just keep getting better with age (a little more colour, fins get a little longer etc) Come on people, keep the pics coming
  11. I only seen one female, but i dident look very hard
  12. Dont know it this is the right section, but with all the talk about dwarf cichlids lately, i just thought id let you all know that i was verry impresed with the selection i seen at jansens botany today. They had: Apisto. Cacatuoides Apisto. Pandruo Apisto. Macmasteri Apisto. Agassizi Apisto. Trifasciata Apisto. Sp. Steel blue Nannacara Anomala Nice Gold and Blue Rams Neon blue badis Not often you see all those in one shop 8)
  13. Was awasum to catch up with everyone, you couldent of asked for a better guest speaker... anyone catch that reciepe for Fire Eel curry
  14. Wow, there will be Pauls from north, south and centre. Look fword to seeing you all there :bounce: :bounce:
  15. We will have to agree to disagree :-? maybe nut it out over a beer next time our paths cross
  16. Im sorry Amazonian, but i have to disagree with you, all i have read says that these fish are the hybrid Apistogramma sp. steel blue. The Apistogramma inconspicua colours are not as bright, and they have a slightly differant body shape. It is abit like trying to pass Macmasteri off as Viejita, the fish are simalir but clearly diffrent. How long ago did you breed them, maybe you breed the true Apistogramma inconspicua?? eather way, still quite a achevement
  17. If there are plenty of hiding places, things should settle down. What size is the tank, what else is with them????
  18. Sounds like 2 males to me, just that the aggressor is claming teratory. Even if you cant get a female, they are great fish, i dont think id be without them again If you want to do a little reading check out http://www.forum.apistogramma.com/searc ... chid=72352 the shortage of females is not just a local thing, which is why im so skeptical that i have one..... i guess some fry would put my mind to reast
  19. they will probably be "apistogramma sp. steel blue". they are a hybrid and females can be very hard to come by Here are mine, and im shure they are a pair, if you have any more Q's about them, and i will try and dig up some info HTH
  20. WOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOO :bounce: :bounce: What did we win???????
  21. Nope, they are South American to. the reason i sujest these over tetras is because they are less active. I have rummys and neon's in my 4 foot and they are always up and down the length of the tank, i feel they would look restricted in a smaller tank, but that is just my opinion. Others have had great luck with tetras in smaller tanks... Sounds like it will be a nice tank when finished :bounce:
  22. Apistos are south american Both rams and apistos in most cases are really protective of eggs and fry, but if you are worried about it and want to mix corys and dwarf cichlids, go with apistos, as they are cave breeders, and the corys wouldent stand a chance of getting in the cave, where as rams will lay in the open (on leafs, driftwood etc) HTH P.S. Otocinclus are great and highly recomended 8)
  23. Id go with a pair of apistos or rams, some smaller corys (pygmy or hastatus) and a small school of Dwarf Pencilfish. just note that some blue rams can be very hard to keep alive....
