Thanks Tim Now have striatum eggs and gardneri eggs, they are in seprate containers that are labeled. Would it be ok for the containers to be sealed? and how long should it take for the eggs to hatch @26oC Thanks for all the help

Time for a update I got Helen 3 types of killies. Aphyosemion Stratum, Nothobranchius Korthausae "yellow" and Aphyosemion Gardneri "blue" (got to learn how to say them :oops: ) Tonight we collected our first gardneri egg and found a few eggs in the peet that was in with the notho's so we bagged that up too :bounce: just got to look into how long to incubate the eggs for. The stratum pair have been separated since i got them (advised from aquanut) and it is getting Very tempting to put them togeather with a mop. Any advice or tips on the fish we have would be appreciated

The Waikato Aquarium Society visited Charles Mitchell's place some time last year(or maybe the year before) Unfortunately i missed the trip, but others enjoyed it. They like it hot, soft and acidic (27-30oC,ph 6-7) Congrats on your purchase, im sure you will enjoy them as much as we enjoy ours :bounce:

I was looking at getting red ramshorn snails, but if they eat plants, ill give them a miss. The yellow apple snails are really bad plant eaters, they eat almost any plant put in front of them. I know alot of people (including myself) have had "mistry snails" aka brown apple snails in planted tanks with no problems at all but i find they are not that great at eating the algae eather :roll: . The best way to control algae is to get in some Plec's, BN's or Otto's depending on what is in your tank, and the size of your tank. HTH

i got mine from my mothers garage :roll: , but im sure wok is right, most hardware stores should have them. Alan, i just marked it all out with a vivid, i used 3 dots for each peace to line up, it was a bit messy, sliding silicon all about but got it in the end, then used one of the 90o clamps to hold in place. i will try to get some pics of the lids, and the mod's i made for the airline

Hi this is Helen, just letting you no i love the tanks and they look great, he has even done the back so there is only room for the air line and the lid has got glass stoppers on them so that is sits perfectly in the tank. He even did a handle so it didn't have to fiddle around with the flat lid. He has done a great job and i am one lucky women.The best valentines i could have asked for. Now the hard work is left to me to get the fish and breed them. I can't wait bring on the killies. Umm time to check trade me again i think lol.
