  1. Yea, but with fish keeping i can convince the wife that she wants a fish, then she spends the money...... doesn't work with RC Cars
  2. Yea mate, im a member of rcdrift.org, but there website is down at the moment. Thanks, drifting is very cheep compared to racing, but still costs a bit to get into. It is very much like keeping fish, you can make the hobby as cheep, or as expensive as you like. it is all about self control
  3. As some of you know, i have been doing alot of RC racing, and RC Drifting lately. We Have drift nights here in Hamilton every second Thursday night. here is a video clip that i shot last thursday... Any one in the Waikato area with a RC car, that would like to find out more about RC Drifting, drop me a pm, and we will have you sliding before you know it.

  7. Hi Helen here, a elderly local man and his grandson won the fountain. A great big thank you to all that came to the show, we couldn't have done it with out everyones help. Was awesome to meet and get to know so many federation members, i can see now why everyone loves going to conference with such friendly and loving people a great time is a guaranteed. As for the Waikato club a big thanks to all those who helped, also a big thanks to Dave for with out all the great sponsorship the show would not have been possible. So may i ask who is the next club planning to hold the next one, the Waikato club will help out in anyway possible. The more shows we have the better for our hobby.
  8. yea, sorry about that........ It was nooooo joke
  9. FYI http://www.stuff.co.nz/waikatotimes/4246753a6579.html
  10. Ok, the raffles The Neon tank was won buy a 7-8 year old girl. She was jumping arround the whole time her dad picked it up. The answer was 51 There were a few correct entry's, and it was drawn from the correct entry's. The C02 etc was won by a lady who was running a yeast DIY setup.. so is a great upgrade for her. If she is on these forums, i hope she speaks up. I wasn't around when the little water fall was drawn, so i cant help there... I think that was it?????
  11. As long as you have plenty of hiding places, and the fish are of similar size, you may get away with it. They will fight but for how long will depend if a pair will consead defeat, and stay in what ever cave/hole they are told. If both pairs will not back down after a coupple of weeks (unlikely) you will probably have to find another tank for one of the pairs (and breed them ) HTH
  12. Thanks Kevin, i totally overlooked that, that 1 air pump saved soooo many head aches, and alot of time. I cant thank them enough.
  13. Well, it is now a show that was, the tanks are now all safely locked away awaiting another club to put on the next NATIONAL FISH SHOW. We now have the task of finding ways to make such shows easier, and more appealing for other clubs. Well done to Paul for his success. Between his show winnings, and his breeding achievements, he would have to be amongst the top, if not the top fish keeper in NZ Also like to thank all the other entrants, because the slandered of fish was unbelievable, although it would of given the judges a headache. Id love to thank you all one by one, but at the moment i just dont have the energy or time.
  14. Yes there was a nzka stand, which had mostly killies. We have given our selves a early day today and will finish packing up tomorrow. I cant say enough thank yous to everyone that helped out, and attended the show. It was truly a team effort, im off to spend time with the kids as we haven't seen them in a few days, and will try to give a more detailed report later. Hope all the travelers arrive at there destination safely
  15. Just got back from another great day at the show. The turnout was even greater today than yesterday. If sausage sales were anything to go by, we sold about 450 sausages yesterday.... the whole 500 were gone well before the show shut today...... I dident get to deal with the public much today as i was busy with sorting the auction out, but once again no major complaints. Big thanks to Tom and Rogan for helping out. Was great to see them bagging up goldfish for a few hours. Even Paul spent a bit of at the pond. Having people from all the other clubs, and from these forums more than willing to help out where possible is what has made this show go so smoothly. Last day tomorrow, and we shut the doors at 2.30pm See you all there
  16. WOW, those pics are AMAZING. Well Done I think it would be safe to say we had about 500-700 people through the door (im sure someone will correct me if im wrong) and the genral feedback from the public was great (though a few would have liked names of fish on the tank  ) I will be curious to hear what the hobbiest think. Some of us have our forum names on our name tags, so feel free to introduce your selfs so we can put faces to names Dont forget to buy a raffle ticket, we have a raffle that was set up for the hobbyist, It includes a JBL co2 kit (Bottle, reg, diffuser), Master test kit, And 2 bags of JBL AquaBasis plus (1 Large, 1 Small). Hope to see you all there
  17. We have JUST got back from benching the last fish. All tanks are full and the place looks AMAZING. Time to go find some dinner.......
  18. it will be delt with case by case, but for the most, fish that are brought at auction, will have to remain in there tanks untill monday. It would be best if you know someone in your area that has entered the show to collect the fish you have brought at auction during debenching, and you can collect from them. We cannot have a show that the public are paying to see, with a whole lot of empty tanks, that were full the day before. There will be fish up for auction that are not in the show, that can be collected immediately Anyone can bid on the auction, as long as you register on the night HTH
  19. On Sunday the Schedule (as we know it) is as follows: Prize giving 6.00pm Dinner 7.00pm Auction 8.00pm till finish. these times are off the top of my head, so will need to have them confirmed by Dave, but i cant imagen it being much different to that. Be sure to bring plenty of gold coins, as there are some AMAZING raffles (some worth well over $500) that will be running through out the weekend.
  20. That was my plans, no pics of exhibits, just enough to wet the whistle, but not enough to say you seen it Alot got done today, but nothing really to warrant pics, just tying up loose ends, placing tanks on the stands, suplying air to all the tanks, sorting out the lights Ive been at the venue for 11 & 1/2 hours today, and it is great to see how things are progressing. Id like to make a special mention to a couple of helpers we have had. David(Helens Nephew) and Caleb(Davids Friend). They have never kept fish, and have no intension's of keeping fish but have been there all day (David both days) just doing what ever is needed. Between the both of them they unpacked all the tanks, cleaned all the stickers off all the tanks, Helped full them and just done what ever was asked of them. They should both be at Sundays dinner, so i might have to post a pic of them here so you can give them a pat on the back(or a kick in the bum )
  21. lol, thought that might be the case, thanks warren.... Any other tips or tricks we should know???
  22. They get put into storage until the next show
  23. Well it has been a long day 1 of the National Fish Show We ran into a few problems but nothing we cant overcome 9am this morning, laying things out Show stands Why you shouldn't stack hundreds of tanks on one side of the truck Things coming together Got tanks???? The Prize Giving will be on sunday, followed by a casual dinner (gold coin donation), then the auction to follow. You will have to register to bid at the auction, which can be done on the day. The Auction will be on Sunday, you will have to register to bid,
  24. Anyone that intends to attend this dinner, can you please pm me with numbers, as we need to give caterers numbers.
