    NANO Tanks

i like how tidy they are. you cant see any cables. Pretty much take home and set up. Not to sure how good the lights are for coral, but would be excellent for fish only.

    NANO Tanks

Seen these new tanks at Hollywoods today. Real nice, comes with everything except fish and water. The whole unit looks impressive. Pricing was about $2000 http://www.red-sea-max.co.uk/ and shaneo and chimera, i dont sell them, thanks for your feedback anyway

    holes

Could be lack of pottasium. i aded some to my tank which helped the hole problem
  6. some updated pics Running the reactor with a dosing pump. The reactor does make a loud noise, so not great for undertank
  7. Low ph can cause problems for fish and coral.
  8. what do you mean? The schuran reactor has the ability to remove carbonic acid which is not good for your tank and causes low ph. You can if it does not leach phosphates. This reactor needs 10-15mm calcium media as if too fine it will turn to dust. They say bigger the media the better as you get better water circulation and avoid the reactor clogging up. before i used the media i bleach it with chlorine for 30 mins to clean, then washed it with water.
  9. Got the reactor going after a few problems, if there were any as it seems that the bubbles inside is normal. The reactor does make a noise especially with the eheim 1260 running it and the bubbles going thru it. Co2 is set at 2 bubbles/sec. will test kh coming out after a day to see how high it is, Will also have to get the shutoff valve installed over the week. pics to come
  10. I want my corals to grow and not add buffer and calcium everyday. The schuran reactors are the best around, very well made and feedback is pretty good . It comes with a nice price tag of over $1000 nice link Chimera . make sure you give it a good read and apply on your web site . Please enlighten us to the link you posted?

    New Tank project

    Vey nice growth & colour
  12. I think you will find that calcium reactors should not be running at night as i outlined. I have never run my calcium reactor at night as it could cause harm to my fish, calcium reactor drops your ph and in the evening fish still produce co2 which drops ph. My recommendation would be to turn off co2 at night by way of a solenoid valve, here is a link on schuran reactors. http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showt ... genumber=1
  13. calcium reactor should not be on at night as it will lower ph. at night you ph drops naturally so leaving the calcium reactor on will drop it even lower. what skimmers are they? during the day turn off your lights and see what happens to the skimmer. Maybe the reduction in power can speed up teh skimmer pump and cause it to overflow.
  14. Got it running, however it is drawing air in the reactor which is making it work like a protein skimmer
  15. Bigger than most protein skimmers. Need some media to run the thing, Anyone have 10kg spare of 10-15mm size media.

    Upgrade :P

Tank looked good today, nice growth on the acros. Some fish would be nice? The glo t5s are pretty sharpe.
  17. Today my big present arrived, I would love to get the thing going ,Only problem , i dont have any media? Over the past year i have had problems keeping up kh/cal. just a pain to add 15-20 tablespoons of buffer a day. Cant wait to get the thing going. As space is a problem i went for the Schuran over the Deltec. Hanging the thing on the wall is a big plus.

got any pics with only t5s
  19. No Problems. It is starting to get colder so heaters might be a good idea.

    this should help http://www.marineaquariumadvice.com/mar ... velis.html
  22. cant see why not, fish will live for weeks with out food.
  23. Technology has not changed that much. For example Deltec skimmers where around in 1990s and have not changed much over the last 20 years nad only now in the USA are they raving about them. i think they are 20 years late Just shows you the power of advertising.
