  3. try this no photo so i cant tell if they are land snails or sea http://www.doc.govt.nz/upload/documents ... sfc129.pdf
  4. I doubt they are Nassarius Snail. Nassarius are tropical i think.
  5. In a planted tank zero phosphates is no good as plants will not grow. i had to actually add some as it was to low.
  6. Great growth on some of those corals
  7. I try to clean my skimmer pump and return pump once a year, you can place them in some mild acid to remove calcium build up. Good practice to diarise to do it once a year.
  8. For that price for the stainless brace i would get the tank made in 15mm glass. will look better and might be cheaper than getting a tank made and then bracing it with stainless.

  15. Copperband doing well, mine also comes up to the glass. Picking around the tank but when i feed the tank the copperband is too slow, i will have to get some mussels and put them on the base, hopefully he wont eat my clams or he is dead meat.

    blu coral method

Like to catch up on the latest new. It is a very interesting thread and it might try the blu method some time. Talk other than zeovit and it gets deleted. fair enough if they state that it only for zeovit products but they say it is open forum for all which is not so. All my prodibio posts got deleted. also posted some thread on pottasium test kits and that was deleted as zeovit test kit is very similiar to another brand Pity i missed that, it must have been deleted. From what i read iron plays a significant role in bacteria growth so that would be why zeolite is used in some of the bacteria systems as the bacteria attaches to the zeolite. I would suggest anyone using bacteria type system that they limit iron as some tanks with Miracle mud have also had problems with acropora getting that light colours and then dying. This is if used with products like biodigest/rowaphos etc which has bacteria in it.
  20. Been doing a bit of reading on this method, sounds very interesting

  22. yes added some mag chips. the rest is coral bits. will see if it breaks down over time. i got the solenoid valve and regulator, will put in on timer for say 12 hours, will just test to see how if i have to change the time. One thing i did notice was the growth rate of my corals as my ca/kh levels are higher than normal as due to lack of time i have not been keeping a eye on my levels.
  23. Update on my vortech pumps. Its been over 8 months since these have been out and finally after getting more replacements parts these things are working 100% Soon the new wireless controller is going to be out so it will be pretty interesting to see what it can do. Still running 3 vortech on my 2000L tank and thats seems to be all i really need as they do move more water than the 6100 streams. Noise factor also has dropped with the changes which is a plus. i can answer that now. The vortech give more flow and it is very wide, i really doubt you have to swivel them or really need them on a controller as the current is very random. can say if they are better than a stream as both have good points. yes vortech pumps have had problems over the year however things are improving and most changes are free. what i like is the small foor print inside the tank and the wireless controller will be a real plus when they come out. I am sure you will see copies soon but like most products you pay for what you get.
