  1. how are you going to hide all the plumbing/wires and the bottom of the tank.
  2. yea like slugs or snails in movement. here is a link. looks like they must live with the monti and attack it when it gets damaged, the monticap do have a lots of slim so the nudis must like it. found this info http://www.reeffarmers.com/tracygraynudi01.htm
  3. Might be the cause of you algae. the stuffis pretty rich in nutrients, I dosed some to my baby banggai and within two days the tank went green. the tank does get some sunlight. Have you just added the 10k??
  4. got some good growth, would help if you changed to 10k bulbs or blv14k. As i have noticed heaps of growth with brighter bulbs, The narva 14k look very nice but not good for coral growth. I read somewhere that adding to much amino acids causes the brown diatoms. i am getting more diatoms when i stated to dose Salifert amino acids. Higher temp also causes the diatoms I think you stated that you had 0 Nitrates, I have found if you can increase your nitrates your will get better colours. raised mine from 0 to 2ppm and overnight i noticed better colours.
  5. yea once you find one. They are hard to come across as they just call them Montipora on exports list. Hopefully might be lucky one day and get one in. All the ones so far come in brown and colour up once in bright light. This is as close as i got
  6. i will swap it for a orange one once Brian finds one as i am a bit naive on these things.
  7. here is my purple monti cap. I have had it for ages , it does not grow as fast. was pure purple until i moved it to a dimmer light,. I have put it in brighter light about a month ago and it is starting to colour up. Never really noticed it , even when it was purple.
  8. Try some of these cookie, wont eat fish http://www.trademe.co.nz/Home-living/Pets-animals/Fish/Decorations/auction-37220098.htm
  9. Any zeovit update. been a long time since update.
  10. could be the oil on the food which causes the skimmer not to skimm for a short period
  11. I would agree with that.
  12. I would say that it is not good as your main filtration due to not being porous. You could mixed it with rock or place some rocks in your sump.
  13. They will give you a stock list if you ask
  14. That is high. will test some and see what i get. Maybe cheap carbon is better.
  15. AT the end of the day it is the shops decision to buy and hold stock. If they cant sell stock what is the point of holding it as they cant get a good return on their investment. What corals are you looking for and what is impressive.? I Have seen some very nice corals at Hollywood and Jansens but they just sit there. Why is that.? Hollywood Albany always has a great selection. You just have to be quick as stock does move fast.
  16. Give me a example why you think that. We buy from the same supplies .
  17. Hollywoods does not source all its carbon from kongs, They also sell rowa carbon and tunze.
  18. you can get seios from jansens/hollywood. 820 are about $95, not bad price, i doubt a 820s will have enough grunt for a 5ft tank, the 1500, are $200
  19. It that a turbinaria, never seen a yellow monti cap
  20. normally every 3 weeks, but wont be any for some time as the market for it is limited, Jansens had some pink milles but no one buys them, i think there still is one.
  21. i am sure if there was some i would have it. Not many hard corals of this type are imported.
  22. photo updates, its been a month ,how is it going??
