i had 4 females and one lonely but happy male. Biggest spawn was 22 from one female

all those medusa are about 4 inches. 3F 1M (4+ inches). then i have a few more that (3+) are in a 240l tank growing up...

yea i did. When i see a fish i like i breed them for a bit and then sell them. I get the thrill out of breeding stuff, but not having all the breeders...I don't have the MTS yet..

yea those are the ones. All my females have died and only had half split ones left.

i was looking for more females thats all, i initially had about 12 females then one by one they started going to a better place. My females are all going to drop soon aswell. Hope i get some of the results that i want.. so sad if i dont cos i have got 6 females that are going to drop. Fingers firmly crossed.

I am wanting to sell a pair. If i get a reasonable offer i will sell them, or i will list them on trademe on Friday. The male was with 4 females when the spawnings happened. Both the male and female are about 6cm. Last batch from a single females was approximately 25-30 eggs. spawings will get bigger with size

first u could get glasses so you can look as hot like me...yea rite!!! I have heard, that if there are no males present they could just do the whole ritual by themselves(females) and just skip the males bit.. So the eggs will not be fertile but the females will still hold till they figure out that its not going to work out. read this before on cichlidforum.com

On saturday after work i got home around 6pm. I finished feeding my Tropheous colony, had dinner then went down stairs to do some waterchanges on my other tanks. Came upstairs around 10pm and found all my Tropheous on the tank bottom:o Nothing was moving all of them were finding it hard to breath. The tank colour had turned a bit browny.Had to get them out of that tank quickly.So i put them all into a 120L container that has half water from the tank and half water from my tank downstairs. Had no clue what had gone wrong. This is how they all looked at 10:10pm I was doing waterchanges every 10min on the 120L container. I tested the water and all the chemicals were off the chart :-? . The water changes went on for about an hour and they all came back to life one by one. I contacted one of my good mate and just checked with him if i was doing the correct thing. A picture of them at 10:55pm I did a complete 100% waterchange on my 500l tank and put all those guys in. By now i had gone through about half of the biggest Aqua plus bottle$$$. By the time all of this was done it was about 2am. Tropheous do a funny thing when they want to let you know that they are hungry or want to go to sleep. When they want to go to sleep all of them will start going up and down one corner of the tank. So it was bed time for them. Every one of them had survived the whole ordeal. I got up about 6Am and had a look at them. They all seemed to be doing well. Before the end of the day I had 3 females holding aswell :lol: Main cause of this whole event...a broken Filter pump!!!!!

some of the smaller ones came from craig and the other bigger ones came from chch aswell but from a different souce

no you will have to take them out. I take out the fry when i know that they mother is just about to spit...her mouth is always a bit open, the stomach has a pouch under it..thats when i take them out. Before i have taken them out sooner and kept losing the fry
