  1. good stuff mate. The C.Weitzmani are still expensive overseas. I will have my fingers firmly crossed so we can all share in the fun. Do you think that the problem can be due to Ph or the hardness level?
  2. i think that if they have more than 12 (17 to be exact) then they are called Brochis Multiradiatus. Brochis splendens have 11-12. Normal green cory are ment to have 8. (hope the numbers are correct)
  3. I think i can join the list for the people who have got albino guppies going. I have got about a dozen growing up now. fingers crossed. Maybe someone may want to swap a male or two in the near future
  4. thanx stu. I remove the eggs and place them in a small container. I don't leave them with the parents because they are gone within an hour or so. I will keep trying till i find out why this is happeneing... Hope it all pays up sometime soon.
  5. My cories have spawned 2x fimes now and the eggs seem to fungus both time. I have used meth blue both times without any results. Anything else i could do? any ideas will be helpful. cheers
  6. i will try my best to breed them first
  7. phill. I got the last three.. I am trying to breed my weitzmani, so havn't tried anything yet. They spawned on friday and just waiting for the eggs to hatch now :-?
  8. heya i have got a male and a female. I initially had 2 females but one died for no reason!
  9. not sure mate... sorry There is someone in aussie thats trying tho.
  10. no there are more than 2 people who have spawned them.. but there is only one guy who is having real success raising the young, but he has not said much
  11. sweet.cos in some forums you cannot do that, thats why. There were other bits that i have read but cannot find them.
  12. hope i do not get in trouble for this!!! http://www.plecofanatics.com/forum/show ... light=L104 http://www.plecofanatics.com/forum/show ... light=L104
  13. if you were to sex panaque species using hair on the back part of their body it may lead to a wrong conclusion. Males when ready to spawn or are in good condition will grow the hairy back . They can also shred the hair within a couple of days. Best way is to sex them is to look at their heads. Search the web for L104 and you may come up with some spawning accounts. These plecos have been spawned in aussie a few times in the past year. Articles say that they are easyish to spawn BUT the hard part is to get the females to fill up and also to keep the young alive.
  14. yup thats true and also at the end of their bristles. Its not L088. I cannot remember the L number but i think its somewhere in the 200z from what i can remember.sorry
  15. Have a closer look at their bellies and their fins. They have white dots on them mate..so i am unsure of it is L088 Also the bellies are alot darker in colour in comparison to L088.
  16. yes i have spawned Arcuatus but i had exams during that time so didn't seperate the eggs and they were all gone within a day or so. I want to breed the weitzmani again and then breed the Arcuatus.
  17. 4-5cm would be big enough to breed. My weitzmani are about 5cm max. When i spawned my bronze last year they were 4-5 cm.
  18. i got my Corydoras Weitzmani to spawn :bounce: i have collected about a dozen eggs and left another 6-10 with the parents but those with the parents were gone this morning. The spawn happened on saturday night. Fingers firmly crossed and hoping the eggs wont fungus.
  19. sweet i am comming to wellington on the 9th december to see my girlfriend.. will bring a tank. haha

sorry to hear about thefish mate... Like MV said these are very touchy fish because of their past. I breed these guys myself and have noticed that they do not grow up as fast as some of my other fish. whih is a problem from inbreeding (saw it on PC). You could always try another breeder. Good luck and hope it gets better for you 8)
  23. feed the shrimp pellets just before you turn off the lights, or just after...
  24. No i am not after them. I got my hands full with things that i have to breed.
  25. NOOOOO dont do that...seperate them out and give me the demasoni fry!!! na that should be okay as long as they are about the same size. But the demasoni are a little moe aggressive!
