    Lighting FAQ

Thanks Ira and Simian No real plants so my lights are ok then. Caper
  9. One of my goldfish, Sam (comet/common still get them mixed up  ) was a very bright orange the first quarter of his body and the tail end, the middle was white. Eventually the orange faded you can still tell where the orange was though. However Beauty (fantail/veiltail, yep still get mixed up  ), whose coloring was similar to Sam when I first got her/him. Now, Beauty is all orange with the exception of some white in her/his fins. Caper

    Hello

Hi & welcome! I take it you haven't found your betta yet. Do you have anything inside your tank that he could be hiding in, an ornament, log, etc??? Hope you find him! Take care & have fun, Caper
  14. Thanks all for your help! Thanks for posting the youtube on it Hans, could be handy as a refresher. Yes, from what I recall it was an excellent program for people who never took a bookkeeping course. Hence, this was obviously an excellent program for my son to choose when he and his Dad started the business. His Dad didn't get involved in that aspect our son did all the bookkeeping and I must admit he did an excellent job! Even their accountant gave him high praises. Of course, the one downfall they didn't keep it backed up on disc apart from the computer...tsk, tsk, tsk I warned them! Anyway, by your comments it seems that it is still an easy accounting program to use. The program I used most was Simply Accounting and used Quickbooks for a period of time. It shall be interesting to see how the interview goes since the 2 people doing the interview, as far as I know, are from Australia, well at least the gentleman that called yesterday certainly WASN'T a Cape Bretoner  I hope we can understand each other...2 distinct accents:lol:  Caper
  15. Thanks Zev! You mentioned that you know people who use MYOB would you mind asking them, if you can, if it still a very basic program. I guess what I mean by that, like I said my son never took a bookkeeping course in his life, and was great at using this program. I am a bookkeeper so would this still be a program that is easy to use, if you know what I mean :-? Would it be difficult to get back into using it??? I don't know if I'm allowed to name the company but it is the world's largest exporter of thermal coal. The coal industry in Cape Breton used to be a major employer and a booming business in Cape Breton until a number of years ago. Now they are trying to get another mine up and running here. Thanks, Caper

    Lighting FAQ

Oh so sorry, but I just don't understand alot of what was posted. I know how to turn on a light and change a light bulb but that's about it. But I will read again to try and make some sense, looks like you've done an excellent job Simian Anyway, since this was about lights I thought I'd post this here. I was reading in "fish" book last night and it recommends that lights should be changed every 6 months to a year max. Now I don't have nay fancy fluorescent lighting but does this sound right??? 18. I only have the 3, um salt & pepper cory's. Now, they used to be always hiding when I'd go near the tank, but since I moved the tank in a different direction :-? they come out a bit more. Today I noticed one, at times, laying sort of on his/her side and looking listliss. Now, is he/she sees me up and gone. I was just wondering about the barbels. I find that his/hers are not quite as long as the other 2, could that be a problem??? Now maybe there's nothing wrong and I'm just noticing that he/she likes this spot to rest. Other than what looks like shorter barbels in comparison to the other 2, he/she looks fine. I didn't check the water parmeters as when I checked last week everything was fine and yesterday was water change day. Caper
  19. Your not serious are you??? Ah, such a handsome little boy and although, I'm scared of frogs (yah, wimp) your frog is cute. Caper
  20.  They always act like there hungry especially when they see   It is part of their plot to get more food, if they could make sad puppy dog eyes I'm sure they would  Caper

  22. I have a job interview with a company whose headquarters is in Sydney, Australia! Bit of my background with MYOB: My son used to use MYOB as did my ex when he had his business. Several years ago when I started to help, my son was starting his own business so I was helping the ex with his. To make a long story short, I was only becoming familiar with the program when the computer crashed. They didn't have it backed up (yes, I had warned them!). Anyway, my real introduction was to get years of information back into the system. With some help from the accountant, I was able to do so. But that was a number of years ago now. MYOB is not used much around here. My son & I both wondered why a large company would use, what here is, an outdated program. So I google, yup, big in Australia and apparently New Zealand. I was wondering if anybody is using this program and could offer any advice????????????? I now the version that my son and ex used was very basic and simple to use, an excellent choice considering my son was doing all the bookkeeping and never had done anything like that before and was doing an excellent job! Anybody??????????? I have an interview next Thursday. Caper
  23. Okay, fed the barbs and tetras the shrimp. But gee, they were so small and spread out so fast, I have don't know if any or all or some of the fishies got any I let it soften in a small container with tank water but when I poured into the tank...it was like zoom, gone!!!! I'm guessing there's no way to tell. Caper
