  4. 174 babies...wow, wouldn't want to change those diapers... oh, we are talking fish   That is a lot of fish...wow!
  5. Sorry, I'm no help...don't even know what they are I did a search here, was wondering if it was the fish??? that Mystic had posted a pic of...but can't find it. Are you talking about keeping it in with the goldfish? I have 3 goldfish and 2 ottos in my 10 gallon. The only thing I find gets really dirty is the front of the tank...on the bottom, in front of the gravel if for some reason I don't vacuum weekly in that spot. My water stays good ammonia 0, nitrites 0, and pH usually between 7.2 & 7.6 (leaning more towards the 7.6).
  6. I think we've discussed this before...and the general conscensus was as Ira put it...HOWEVER, with that said...I suppose if a fishy was just feeling ill, but able to recover...it could possible get stuck in his weakened state, but if didn't get stuck he could recover...isn't that possible? BlueandKim...but doesn't the debris get stuck in the stockings? I guess I'm thinking it would clog things up before even getting into the filter??? Someone also recommended a hair curler, only I don't remember how you would hold it to the filter

    Hello from Welly

  20. Suphew...usually the water change is with water that has been sitting for a couple of days or so in a container (not directly out of my cold water tap) just sitting in my living room. So, that should be ok shouldn't it? Although, tonight when I was doing the water change before treating my tank I did run out of water...so I just added enough hot water to take the chill off the water directly from tap. When I use ice cubes I usally put them in a baggie and hold it in the tank by putting the end of the bag under the lid (so that the cubes once melted don't go into my tank). Yes, I do use fans as well when needed. The biggest problem is with the 10 gallon that my goldfish are in...that tank has the incadescent lights in it so doesn't take long to heat up...so don't keep them on long when it is really hot. Times I have had the lid up with the fan on the water. Just a note on the lid up with the goldfish...I'm always scared they'll jump out...but okay so far!
  21. It is one of those "all-in-one" so to speak...carbon & blue fiber filter cartridge...it sits behind the bio filter. I was told by the company that makes the Parasite Clear that "The reason for the carbon removal is that it would filter out the medication." Anyway...do I need to keep the filter wet??? How should I store it till I put it back in in 48 hours??? Thanks for all the help
  22. Thanks Hummingbird...one more question  do I need to keep it wet or can I just take it out and leave it?
  23. Sorry mind has been off and forgot to post this question. Tonight is the last treatment of the Parasite Clear for my fishy. I know I have to take out the carbon filter and have to leave it out for 48 hours after treatment. This was a new filter I put in after the last treatment...is there anyway I can keep this filter from going "bad" so that I can put it back in 48 hours from now or should I just discard it?????? Also, learned important lesson tonight...never vacuum fishy tank when crying...first time ever I vacuumed up a fish. One of my neons, I put him back in the tank...is there anything I should watch for? He was still swimming just fine in the bucket and when I put him back in the tank...poor fishy
