  1. Sorry can't help...around here I've only seen the "hang on" filters and ah, forget the name of it, but some kind of canister filter. I WISH WE HAD A big pet store with all kinds of goodies for pets
  2. What is the thing in the upper right hand side of your tank?? Kinda looks like a....stingray   Evil, I think you have the same thing??
  3. Mystic wrote: Do all fish smell? Just wondering because of my blind goldlfish. That loach is pretty...but I could never have anything at all that remotely resembles a sn...snn...snnnake *shivers*. When I go to Walmart they have some kind of loach, but I just rush right by the tank *ewwwwwwww*
  4. Sorry about your fishies evil...hope the evil fungus goes away
  5. Banana...but then I suppose the fishies will start to expect a banana split next will they
  6. Okay, that sounds reasonable, I wouldn't have known what percentage to use :-? Am I understanding you correctly, by putting water ager in the water it will remove any remaining bleach???
  7. littlelater...how's your guppies doing?
  8. :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: Oh my gosh, you actually have a coffee table tank Can you post some pics of it???????? How does it work, etc???
  9. Sorry know nothing about discus...but many here do...you'll hear from them! More details will help them though: 1) what size tank? 2) any other fishies in tank? 3) filtration? 4) when you say nothing wrong with water, does that mean you tested it? 5) how long has the tank been up & running? Can you post pics, that might help.
  10. First of all....very nice looking young couple HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY TO THEM BOTH Love the cabinet, very nice job! What size is the tank Caryl? Looks really good. What is on the inside on the upper left hand side of tank?
  11. Thanks Bill Now I'll have to back and read up on again on my fishies. Mostly my red eyes and barbs though, since they are the ones that seem to favor a particular end of tank!
  12.    Luke
  13. Sorry, can't help in the filter department as I only have hang on filters, but as you can already see you have lots who will help you I thought with real plants it was at least 10 to 12 hours, but again, those with real plants will direct you. I do know that it is not good to have your tanks in direct sunlight.
  14. I have 2 ottos, Oscar & Felix, in my 10 gallon with my goldfish. I just love them and they are great at keeping their home free of algae, but with that said, I don't have real plants so I don't know how they do in that situation. That's what I want for my other 2 tanks but can't get them
  15.  You got it Mystic    So, then I take it Caserole ISN'T a teenager! Oh my, I really was beginning to think everyone, except teenagers, were in a...rather than just...say...marriage...let's say... committed relationship to cover all basis :-? Congrats on your 3 stars by the way Caserole
  16. If you do it fast enough the other way, don't even have to do the above! Thanks Mustcooktea!
  17. Plus, you have to treat the tank for at least another 2-3 days AFTER the spots are no longer visible on the fishies. I've always done that as that's what is recommended and have been successful with it going! *omg...runs and knocks on wood*
  18. Well, yes it helps...BUT...how do you know if it is too much????
  19. But can you boil a vacuum, it won't ruin the...ah...um...the "whatever" it is made of??? I can't boil the bucket I'm really nervous about using bleach, I tried it once before on a poly resin ornament and could never get the smell out so threw the ornament away rather than taking a chance on putting it back in tank. I do dry everything, but of course can't get inside the vacuum dried.
  20. Sorry about your losses Kookie But glad you found your female :bounce:
  21. Photobucket is really good :bounce:
  22. I haven't seen those "hose clamps" here, but that's no surprise! But, those...I don't now if I have the right name, check valves (shoot, or is that the name of the valve you put on to stop the water from flowing back, darn)??? That sit on the back of the tank and allow you to attach more than one hose can't they be used. Although, how do you know if your restricting the air too much and causing damage to your air pump?
  23. They had a tank at WalMart the other tank, looks similar to yours, but a 46 gallon (174L). This one had a bow front, does yours? If so, do you find it distorts the view any? It doesn't look it in your wonderful pics.
