  1. Surely he hasn't missed the joke?
  2. Wow that would look great with a Tang in it imo Do you use a nanostream or a nanoshake to get the flow?
  3. They seem to love living in foam from mechanical filters and algae too.. definitely some LR would be good but i think it'd be worth chucking in some foam too seeing how cheap it is and that it won't really matter if it becomes a bit of a nitrate sink.
  4. Conch I have an aquamedic all-in-one, not quite as fancy as the RSM but has a lot in common with it. Currently I've got a cardboard fitted PC fan retrofitted onto the feeding tray set to come on when the lights come on. Keeps the tank (with the heater coming on every now and then) at a constant 25.0. Does mean you have to do a bit more RODI top-up though. After exams I'll be dremmeling a hole into the feeding tray and permanently setting the fan into it for a more tidy finish, then I'll be making 3 more hole into the actual hood to try and displace some of the heats from the lights (without causing anymore evaporation). If you don't mind topping up daily (or if you have an ATO which I think I'll be investing in) you can't go past evaporative cooling with a PC fan
  5. I'll look after your RSM for you
  6. Haha reef, you might want to turn to coitus interruptus in the dictionary too
  7. Wow beautiful 'nem! Can you tell us some more about that urchin?
  8. I may or may not have one of these:

I'm guessing you're talking about Salifert Energy? I've got a small pottle of it and I highly recommend it (I think I've mentioned it here before). ~~~ Anyhow, a few of us have conducted a group buy (outside of this site) and it arrived on the doorstep of the organiser this morning. I should have some in the next few days so I'll post here to let you know my thoughts on it. Worked out much cheaper with reduced shipping and didn't have any trouble with MAF/GST despite a relatively large volume - so even if it's a flop it won't be any great loss To those who PM'd me about getting some, sorry but apparently it's against this sites rules to conduct a group buy in any circumstances and my interpretation of the above rule also prevented me from telling you about the group buy organised outside of this site. Cheers
  10. Funnily enough I was looking at this this morning (for study, not to plan any theft! ) so just for fun here's an answer: So yip, you can steal corals. You can, under s 209, only kidnap a person. Oh and just to add to the fun it doesn't matter who physically reaches into the tank, the one distracting will have equal liability as a party to the crime under s 66(1)(b) as, given their intention, their distraction of the shopkeeper would certainly amount to "an act for the purpose of aiding any person to commit [a] offence." Back to the coral though, davidb, that purple bonsai acro is AWESOME!

Ordering from MD is usually a breeze. If 10 people were to order you'd be looking at $120.80 USD including shipping, which works out at about 15 NZD each. Not a huge expense and like I said MD are very easy to deal with.

It's available on Marinedepot. I'll share on shipping if anyone else wants to order some to try? There's a number of different types: http://www.marinedepot.com/ps_AquariumP ... e_spectrum
  13. Grab some Salifert Energy from petplanet.co.nz I'd be pretty confident if there's no nitrates it's a vitamin issue. I highly recommend the above food and if you order some in new it'll be fresher and more likely to have the quality you need. I'm guessing some nori mightn't be a bad idea either..
