I find using a toothpic with some aqua knead (on the rock and the top of the tooth pic) works well. When you do this decrease the current flow for a few days.

After a long time of sitting at 440ppm My Calcium level has dropped to 360ppm in the last week, even with alot of NSW water changes, so how do you dose calcium into your tanks. All those reef additives .... There is a coral growth explosion going on... :lol: :lol:

I have read a couple of cases of a cleaner shrimp, and small fish being caught and eaten by a coral banded shrimp. I also read that if there is enough room in your tank for them to keep clear of each other you should be right. So I decided to stick with just cleaner shrimp. I think you will find most people here probably have never had any problems though. Cheers

Cose I surf at least twice a week. I just fill up my water containers. Why not . It only takes me 5 minutes to change 20 litres, so 20 minutes a week. I change 80 litres. (not all at once though)

nitrate about 20 ppm (can't get it lower, doesn't really get any higher now though. I just add some strotium and Iodine in small levels to keep some trace elements. Will increase the mag a little. The clam sits just off to the side of a 150watt metal halide, about 50cms of water between the clam and light. Usually I give the tank water changes twice a week, thats about 25%. Maybe the problems came awhile ago. and this is just the bulid up of a long time of not having the right conditions. Thing is everything else in my tank is as happy as

My clam has been going down hill lately. But I also noticed something unusual about it. The whole time I have had the clam it has had a medium sized tube worm like thing attacted to it. This thing has now gone... in fact it left when the clam started to look not so good. Could this be a related problem or a parasite. It never bugged the clam before.. My clam lost it foot early. (10 months ago) It was fine until a short time ago. As they get bigger they get to heavy to use their foot, and loose it (so i read)

A $10 fan frm the warehouse will drop the temp quiet quickly, but will cause more evapration. Cheeper than a chiller though. my "o" key is not working prperly. :evil:

More like increase the useful light my clam gets. If I replace one blue light, I could gain 25 watts of marine white (approx), or 54 watts of T5. Since my light is a 150 MH, it could be between 12.5% - and 25 % increase.

JDM I was hoping that this will give enough light to initate the morning and evening light, with a single T5, and having the halide as midday so to speak. The question is it much better to have a T5 than a normal marine white tube which will fit in easy, The question is how much a T5 will outperform a marine white (2 foot in length)??
