(ESPICALLY when the sump is constructed inside the stand and can't be removed....   laughing at myslef   Fish even act differently.
  2. yes thats it... water fleas... Not for long, the copperband is getting more and more keen. I just need a regular supply. Can only get them once a week and they only last three-four days. Cheers Ru
  3. Wooden flooring   I would say a flea bomb around a tank, would have the same type of result as bombing your lounge with mustard gas..

    Anemone troubles

    Hows the anemone now JDM??
  6. DO NOT use copper based treatments with live invertibrates in your tank. Kills them dead. That means dead anemone = everything dead... If you use copper based treatments put it in a completely seperate tank. Your anemone (as long as clowns live in it) should kill all parasites that would try to live on your fish. Cheers ru
  7. Copperband eating freshwater live food today, from the local pet store. A good start. Also having a really good look at the flake food, after watching my other fish go nuts eating. Fingers crossed.
  8. She wastes the glass shrimp from raglan. Atacked ones that were 3cms plus. (to big to eat though) Cheers
  9. Thanks wasp. He has tonnes of mysis shrimp. Due to me slow flow return pump setup. (turns an overflow into a refugium). He is interested in a smashed mussel I put into the tank. Hope he goes well.
  10. Hey What do you guys feed yours?? (Copperband Butterfly Fish) My one was eating frozen food in the shop. But hasn't touched it in my tank yet.. Although no more glass anemones  . Cheers for the advice. Reuben

  15. Bristle star... answer to why there legs start falling off.. Because they are starving to death.. This is true if you beleive my book I got for christmas.. "500 plus essential to know invertibrates and tips for their care". My one legs were falling off and it was in the light all day and even stopped accepting food for about two weeks. I put it in the sump (which must have food in it ), is is 24 hour pitch black. (no light) it was in there for about 2-3 months.... cause i forgot about it   (during this time it lived right under where my fresh water top up water goes) Took it out three days ago and into the main tank and its happy and feeding well again. Legs regrowing. He is now renamed stumpy......

  24. yip, you can do it cheap as... probably for $500-600 (as my local fishstore told me..    ) Unless you wish to have anything interesting (anemones, shrimp, corals etc... etc...) Then the cost is as much as you wish to spend... Budget at least 2000-3000 and take your time shopping and READING up. Also look on trademe will save you heaps, and make your money go further. Good luck.. JDM has a good tank on trademe for cheap, don't know how you would get it to Nelson
