  3. I like the idea of a closed loop system, are you going to share your next tank ideas? If I was to go with the 1700 long x 750 wide and 580 deep tank what would the recommended lighting be? My current light setup is 1000mm x 450mm wide which would mean 350 at each end of no light. Maybe the 1400mm long tank would be a better option. I have also a T5 setup which looks the same they could go side by side, but I don't like the clutter and is a pain for cleaning. Could my 2 x 150's MH be enough? or completly out of the question?

    pipe cleaning

When I had fresh water Oscars I used to clean the pipes but with marine they don't seem to get as much growth. So no I don't clean them...
  5. same. was trying to use a differnt website but no good for pictures.. WHAT ABOUT MY TANK PLEASE
  6. I’m thinking its upgrade time. Current tank 1220mm L x 580mm H x 450mm D (volume 318L) Sump 630mm L x 180mm D (water level) x 350 D (volume 40L) Total volume 358L less rock As you can see from the pictures of our entrance I have lots of room for a larger tank. I am thinking of the following. Main tank 1400mm L x 580mm H x 750mm D (volume 610L) Sump 1220mm L x 580mm H x 450mm D (volume 318L) Total 928L A tank 1700 L (740L + sump) would fit fine but I am worried about the extra lights, I don’t want to have to purchase more MH. I have a set of T5’s same setup and separate 2 x T5’s as extras but $$$ will be an issue. Current lights are 2 x 150w + 2 blue fluros) Our house is a pole house and I have a shed build under the house all ready to go with lights and power (perfect for sump, chiller etc which would be my current tank). Problem is it is 14-17m away and 4m up to the top of the tank. What are your thoughts on a suitable pump and is it worth even thinking about or is it best to have the a small sump under the tank? (Dam I hate the noise of my chillier) My current skimmer is a Deltec 1250 ….. can I add another or do I have to upgrade? How much? Looking at a closed loop and sea swirl for circulation plus the stream I currently have. Thoughts please
  7. Options 1) throw out the whole thing? 2) Take it out of the water and remove as much as possible and keep doing it. as I said so far there is none any where else.
  8. yep... Throw out a coral plate with heaps on it.. this is the only bit I have. What should I do?
  9. Brought this from a chinaman returning home and have this growing on it... what is it and is it bad?
  10. I purchased a secondhand Deltec 1250 skimmer from Hollywood and had nothing but problems, the collection rate was all over the place. I would get it right and a week later the cup was over flowing in a day. Turn the air down and nothing. This went on for a long time and thought this is the reason the last owner sold it... might well have been. Anyway I let the air in take suck a couple of cups of boiling water and bingo this skimmer is great. The salt had built up in the air intake and was causing a problem. Is this normal?
  11. Thanks as usual Wasp..... the man!!! Well these are a couple of pictures after main lights have gone out.

  14. Well I followed these instructions and I have not had any luck? what have I done wrong? 1. Create a ‘New Topic’ or click ‘Post Reply’ in an existing topic to get into the new post screen (see Fig 1). 2. Type in the text of you post. 3. Put the cursor where you want to display the picture. 4. Click on the button. 5. Open a new copy of internet explorer or your browser of choice (you can have more than one open at once). 6. Go to your picture hosting site, eg www.digitalpose.com 7. Go to your albums and find the picture you want to show in your post. 8. Right mouse-click on the picture and select ‘Properties’ from the menu. 9. A ‘Properties’ window will open. Next to Address (URL) is the full internet address for your picture. Put your mouse-pointer at the end of the address just after the last letter. Hold down the left mouse button and highlight the whole address right back to the ‘http://’ part. Press the ‘Ctrl’ button and ‘C’ button together (this copies the address to your clipboard). 10. Go back the browser page containing your new post. Press ‘Ctrl’ button and ‘V’ button together or select ‘Edit / Paste’ from the pulldown menu (this pastes the full internet address of your picture into your post). 11. Click on the button again. 12. You will not see your picture but some text. This is good. The FNZAS Website takes care of displaying the picture for you. When you submit it, it automatically links the picture in.

Anemone is fully open and ate some brime shrimp today (I think) I squirted some brime shrimp in to it and it closed up around them. http://images.snapfish.com/34588%3A%3B95%7Ffp338%3Enu%3D3272%3E2%3A7%3E6%3A%3A%http://images.snapfish.com/34588%3A%3B95%7Ffp336%3Enu%3D3272%3E2%3A7%3E6%3A%3A%http://images.snapfish.com/34588%3A%3B95%7Ffp335%3Enu%3D3272%3E2%3A7%3E6%3A%3A%

  19. Spend some time studing charts and looking at cycles. Also look up the name Gann. Oh look at a monthly chart of gold and you will see it is making new tops and bottom for a long time now. Can't argue with fact. $1600 well that is just a forcast but a view of many. Would not buy the dow for all the money in china. http://www.36south.com/funds/regent-fund.htm Great leverage
