  1. I had a $495 2 months ago and $350 last month. I neally die with that bill. We sit in the dark and read by the tank lights... My tank can't cost that much to run but it all adds up. Told the wife to dry her hair with a towel and hang the clothes on the line, we are still looking for the clothes line. I know its outside somewhere.
  2. Ok I have reduce feeding heaps and will continue to monitor. Thanks Wasp for the food, I am feeding a little frozen every second day and a little of your food night and morning. Shrimp is still alive but looking a little worried. Not sure how you can tell when a shrimp is looking worried but if I was him I would be worried. Thanks for testing my water but those numbers don't mean a lot. How does that compare to your tank? I will send another water sample in 2 weeks. Thanks
  3. Been using zeavit for months now and everthing has been good, now I have hair algae starting to take over. Tank 1 year old Zeovit 6+ months aprox Now I don't want a shi%% fight but some coments from other zeovit users. 4ft tank weekly water changes, filtered. no siliates (spellet wrong) thanks to Chris's test kit. 4. I have a nigger trigger in my 4ft tank, I got him very small and he has been no problem. He is about 3inches long now. I also have a couple of shrimp in my tank. I have had one problem when I did not feed him for a day or two, my coral bandit lost a few legs and his claws. I keep him feed and no issuies. Oh except I have too feed quite alot. Still happy with him.

  10. I also have a weather station "La Crosse" it record rain fall, humidity indoors, indoor and out door temp, due point, wind direction and wind strength etc etc. Got this in NZ for $500 works good, you don't have to empty the rain sensor and it tells you how much rain in the last hr 24hrs and total. Good when you have tank water, also interesting when you live in Hunua with all the rain.

    missing blenny

I think you are correct with zeovit and weekly water changes, since I moved and have been a little slack with weekly water changes I too have hair alge. back too weekly changes.
  13. the small ones are 1-2mm long, the big curly legged antena things are 5mm long abd ugly.
  14. I have these small mite things swimming in my overflow, some are bigger and cuel up with antena and legs. They are clear colour. The small ones look like little tadpoles. Any ideas? Also a small small brown worm thing. what do I do with these, I can vacuum out my over flow and say good bye. Are they bad?
  15. Well we finally have the net going again, problem with living in the country. Not enough phone lines. The move went well, Keven from Beachlands helped for the day and it ONLY took 7hrs to pack it up, drive 30min and set it up. I used the move to reloate my Lemon Peel, my Tourch Coral is not dieing any more and my yellow polps are starting to regenerate. I had one causalty - Nigger Triger, we were so busy catching lemon Peel and stopping the other fish from going in to holes in the rock we missed the Trigger. We had no idea were he was so gave up on him as "good bye" Well 7days later I saw a little blue fin sticking out of a gap in a rock, he could not get out. We had put a leather in the enterance. Moved the leather and bingo out came a skinny Trigger. Poor bastard stuck in a hole for a week. He's doing fine after some grub. I am very pleased with the result, my tank looks the best it ever has, thanks to Keven for his help.
  16. well its my lemon peel.... seen him with my own eyes. Going cheap if anyone has room!!!! Oh he comes with a free months food and board. great looking fish just needs a little training.
  17. Will a yellow tang and a blue tang get on ok?
  18. Part of my touch coarl has died, I think my Yellow Peel is the reason. Has anyone had a simular problem. The little bugger also likes my small yellow polyps. Pick pick pick. But will he kill a torch coral by picking? What is a good replacment, something with bright colour? 1 x Blue Tang 2 x Tomato clowns 1 x Bi colour gdottyback 1 x Nigger Trigger

$79.00 Worth evry cent as he adds a bit of realism to the tank, after all in the wild there are more that corals and fish. Oh he has even bitten me, did not hurt but was cool. Attitude !!!!!

Chimera, I got the little guy from Hollwood, he only comes out after lights out unless he hungery. When he's hungery I can hand feed him bits of shrimp. My blue tang like to get a scrach from him / her (who knows) back in to him, quite cool.

sounds good but don't think I have time for this when I have to move my tank. I don't have a spare tank to make things simple. It will be all go, with containers etc.
