It should be fine. Depends on the personality of the oscar - I've had small bottom feeding fish (8cmish) in with oscars before and things have been fine.

Try taking the male out for a few days then add him to the tank again (keep him in another tank in the meanwhile though!), you may find they get down quite soon after that.
Agasizzi aren't always peaceful. I had two males in a 4ft tank and they harrassed everything - a breeding pair of full size Angels, my clown loaches (killed one of them), siamese fighters and my school of 21 cardinal tetras.
Well yes, but there will always be some that go into reeds or whatever where the bigger ones couldn't reach, which is where the smaller ones will come in handy.
