  1. cool, thats probably the bestone but im looking for something that more designed for not humans lol ok maybe there isnt any, cos if its designed fo rhumans, its usually really expensive:D
  2. there are fish here that can be put in those tanks and really 3400 for a poratble swimming pool, 15k water volume. is good value! just heating is, i was thinking of a solar heaitng system. running water through some black pipes that hits the sunlight, to heat it, i seen that works in normal pools. just to make it a litle easier to heat. pacus id love to put pacus in there. somehow install a viewing window:D some other large fish that i am tracking down. this is my 3 year plan or so
  3. ok, but i mean like an aquarium keep it at a constant heat level
  4. how would one come about heating 15,000 litres of water. outdoors?
  5. i have never had an algae problem before. but when i see it starting, i do two thisng first, water change, and less length of time ofr lights to be on. plants will stop them too. but perhaps your light is too bright, wrong bulb do you use proper aquarium lighting? or house hold tubes? that would be a problem also, put in a pleco:D to suck the walls perhaps? or if the problem really really persists... but in a whale shark
  6. water change and re test it the aragonite will spike up your ph anyways but like you said it isnt that much. so it must be something else test the tap water.... but 9.5 seems highly unusual and definatley not normal my tap water here in albany auckland is about 7 drift wood would definatley bring down the ph but there is a problem here, maybe your test kit is faulty.... get anew one?
  7. i put the Dats in the jardinii tank , holy hellllll the dats i got from napier is size of an A4, the widthis double the aro, length, one is same, one is longer! when it first arrived, the aro would stay way clear of them, after a few hours, the aro started to get curious, i knew it was gonna fight, early morningthe aro woudnt relent, keeps on trying to harass the dats! huge dats too! brave fish, untill the dat got angry, took a pot shot at the aros face! missed but gave the aro a fright, stopped for awhile. then suddenly, it starts again i leave them for 3 hours, came back, totally calm, no fighting, swimmign peacefully.... one of the dat has some war scars... light cosmetic stuff.... the jardinii had scales ripped off both sides, one side had a clear MOUTH mark from the dat lol, kinda funny but not.... the jardinii got whats coming to him.. separated now! both fish are happier... lesson to be learnt.... jardiniis are a-holes when it comes to fish! when it comes to jars, i think we are up for trial and trial then more erros:D nothing ventured nothing gained.... here are the pics... keeping in mind , the silver dollars in that pic IS FULLY GROWN!!! these dats are huge! but gorgeous....i got this to the tank last night 830pm, and moved them to this tank in the photo only noon today. colour is coming up nicely below is my royal clown, and my african knife the damn CK wont stay still, it has 11 spots! running close to its gills!
  8. mmmmmmmmm maybe their colour really is up to them and how they feel my small dat, is bright as bright silver and extremely well coloured. even when i put it in the tank,it never dimmed. so i dont even know what you guys mean - maybe individual fish is different perhaps?
  9. yeah, i have a marine now, i actually still prefer freshwater. something about them
  10. sump is best for that i reckon, cheapest too! but if you have the cash, then et two fx5s. should uffice. in theory, 1 fx5 should filter that tank. depending on how many fish. sump you get such value for money, you can put really nasty huge return pumps, and filters way better than any canister! its like a giant canister:D i just bought a tank like that. 2400x800x600h im putting a silver aro, CK, RCK, African black knife, 2 big dats i just bought, 2 silver dollars, spotten metynis, parrot cichlid, pleco, one geophagus, 2 cigar sharks, 2 appolo sharks, 1 giant gourami (golden) predator tank! maybe a jag, i like them i really do i would say that 60% of people owing a jardinii say alone or only ground dwelers, i have seen videos, and spoken to people with jardinii in a tank with silvers, reds and asians, and other fish,no problems. dependson the jardinii. jardinii tends to be pick on who it picks on, if it doesnt like one fish, it will irritate it. it doesnt like 1 of my silver dollars but it leaves the other one alone. it ignores flagtail, tinfoil barbs and a spotten metynis completely. so im gonna try the borneo tigers , if it doesnt work out you just move them. im actually considering putting my jardinii into the 8 foot i got when its up and running after all the ther fish has settled in. perhaps if its over whelmed with other aggressive fish, this will subdue its character and be more placid.... maybe:D i say put 3 silvers:D or just one, and put other stuff in there. big stuff
  11. well i got them in a package deal, so im not worrie that i bought them as such but just annoying
  12. it keeps turning on and off, not it doesnt even turn on mod = warren: swearing removed - last time... i have never had problems with aqua ones, ever
  13. i have a 250 watt wont heat the damn water! how do you make the calibrating thing work no manual, gotit second hand
  14. i think ill hang on to them for my 8 foot i reckon woudlook nice there! when my silver dat gets big enough, would probably join them too! slow growth... my silver dat on that note has grown fast! well i only had it bout 3 weeks, and definatley have gotten fatter and longer i feed 3 times a day:D
  15. on the lef tis a wide bar, on the right is a indo bout 25 to 30 cms long
  16. theres a guy in albany auckland holywood fish farm, name is josh he was considering selling his aro call up the store and talk to him
  17. you think if i put 2 tiger dats bout that size with a jardinii of same length, they would be ok? i hear that dats are head strong fish!
  18. big borneo tigers, lets say a 30 cms long, rather large how are they putting in a tank with aggressive predator fish? like a jardinii of the same size?
  19. it happens just make sure it doesnt happen to a 2grand fish! that would suck the bum bum! though a baby silver dollar is less resilient than a huge aro. still, the risk is not worth the consequence
  20. strange, problem solved its right now
  21. , i see, fair enough well i generally feed it discu tucker and bloodworms i hardly giv eit pelelets but ill keep an eye thanks!
  22. strange, one ofm y discus is floating on its belly up, it tries to swim downward but struggles to sink itself. its not starved, started only today, its fat and looks healthy except for the fact it cant swim right. no marks or anything on its body. colour is still bright as ever. ..... any ideas?
  23. yeah, to my knowledge, bichirs are random, my one was tame as, but i know of some that rip fish to shreds, in fact, everyone says they are aggressive and only with large aggressive fish. fish sleep by floating and sometimes drifting around the bottom, this is the bichirs home territory. in this case, it could be that. possibility that wiht amonia and stuff spiking - PH BURN? dont know possibility but not sure if its the case, i say the attacking is more likely. cycle the tank? old water in filter will do it. time will take care of it. i always get that when tanks are moved and most of the water id disposed. i notice that my water gets lightly cloudy , white cloudiness when i do more than 30% water change. so i try not to for the bichirs, maybe you just have to go darwinian. leave the s dollars n there, if they survive and get bigger, then thy are strong, if not, then its not meant to be:D
  24. could bichirs. but silver dollras swim fast. bichirs can be active at night i noticed, silver dollars sleep then, and usualy resting at the bottom of the tank. could be that. i think they willb e ok int ime, cloudy water, new tanks, i get this too. it should clear, dont put the asian aro in there untill everyting is stable completely i guess, expensive fish! could be nitrogen cycle, maybe some bacteria died and clouded water.
  25. yeah, i have heard of other people over seas that say that knife fish are like cichids. if you hvae more, they are more peachful towards each other i guess the size is a factor, ill have to keep an eye, if not then ill just move them. african knife looks nice, some think its plain but i like it
