  1. Warick....Joes Juice is awesome, can get it at hollywood. Just turn off pumps and syringe directly into the centre of each one. Nails 'em!
  2. Cube looks better than I expected...Awesome!
  3. Very nice Pie......That'll be me in about a year and a half.
  4. Apologies for the bolshyness, but i think its rubbish, nothing personal against you Joe. Each to their own I guess.
  5. Who said Coral sand needs replacing. Thats bullshit. Sand can be rinsed and all the detritus cleaned out very easily in a batch of fresh seawater if was absolutely required. Live sand acts exactly like LR, but on a different scale and houses slightly different organisms. I will never replace my sand. There is no need. Just "Storm it up" every now and then is all that is required.
  6. Im not sure how yet, but Im gonna wish I had me an emerald crab......
  7. I like bare bottoms.............especially girlie ones.
  8. Bugger that, I like sand!!
  9. Mmmm......Funny you say that Layton.....My Xenia all died last month! "The Zoa Man" However, I am mixing the rest very successfully at this stage. (Fingers crossed). 8)
  10. And.....2 inches is not really a DSB is it? It is just a pretty little beach for the fishies to look at!
  11. Interesting.....You are probably right in saying that it is perfect for SPS, however I run Zoo's and softies also coz i like 'em!. (Hence the name" The Zoo man"!! I do however assist with this dirt trapping sand issue by stirring up every single grain and throwing it into the current extremely roughly, to extract the crap. This works really well and takes only a few minutes weekly. My SPS look great too, probably because of this method. The only issue here is my poor little sand sifting goby died coz i keep taking out the food! No more gobies this way please!
  12. ok....Not for me......What is a lagoon with no sand.....EEwwwwwww!!!! Thanks for the info! Thanks for the interpretation of the Abreviation though.....Lol!
  13. Talk to me Layton, What is BB?
  14. I dont think it matters too much where the spray bar is. Heaps of areas will get missed within the rock wall or Island etc and they need to be storm blown anyway occasionally. A spray bar will just ASSIST WITH 50 OR SO % OF THE CRAP SETTLING. Wasp...I'm not running a full reef remember, so a reactor wont be necessary. I also like to "be behind the wheel" of the tank as you have to monitor weekly without a reactor and this keeps the tank in the right gear. Easy to get lazy and take for granted with a reactor and they cost shitloads!!! Once a week for an hour will be all I need to keep all the parameters perfect. (Manually adding). I'm not going to have much more inhabitants to add, so the chemical bioload requirements will still be the same. I will have to add more, but they will get used much slower as they will be in a huge water column.
  15. Have a look at "Crackers upgrade". (THREAD). I am building a large but simple system that is MONEY friendly for the size system I am upgrading to. Obviously a smaller system will be even more friendly if done right. My hint to you is, LFS are the most expensive and friends of the hobby are the opposite, if you know what I mean. You will still need the LFS for some parts, but only when absolutely necessary. Knowing people helps with cost dramatically. More than welcome to see my existing set up and im sure they're are a couple of others here that can share info or show you their setups. Very advisable, as my first set up was LFS orientated and I spent WAY too much.... :-? Pm me if required and good luck.
  16. Semi sand bed, 2 inches throughout entire display.
  17. Hold a dirty book up to the window...lol!
  18. This will be an extremely simple system with very low maintenance. No reactors, electronics, Closed loops etc. just one x large return pump and submersible spray bar pump for behind rockwork followed by probably two streams. Thats it! I am basing the system on Skimming and LR only for the main filtration. Followed by small amounts of Carbon and Phos removers and possible Zeolith products and/or macroalgae growth. (All this will be happening in one channeled area).
  19. Sump sorted.... Delivered Sunday. 1200 x 780 x 600. Fully enclosed with lids, holes drilled in fixed lid areas for returns and feeds, including float system for auto top off which will be restricted with 2 x ballcock valves to a fast dribble only. Sump includes inlet channel for either scrubber units, carbon, phosphate bags etc. It then flows dircetly into chamber one for stage one skimming. Skimmer return will then flow thru 100 kilos LR and then into stage 2 skimmer followed by 8100 LPH hour submersible return. Pic to come.
  20. change the first part of the links: i.e go straight to www.snapfish....blah blah blah...
  21. I use photoshop all the time to completely bullshit my shots!!!!
  22. 3 x Holes drilled and completed. (45mm, 35mm and 19mm). Changed my plans... Overflow in place... Now I've been told to finish the bloody bathroom or I have to find a new Wife...... :-? have to go...............
