My water change system is unique......I can do the first stage of my water change whilst the tank is in full operational mode.....Its awesome. I dont have to turn anything off at all....The tank mates wont even know its happening!!

The Carbon has cleared my tank overnight....... All good, installing skimmer tonight or tomorrow.

BEEN BUSY.....!!!! I'm really stoked with the background colour...Its called "Cobalt"...looks exactly like the Ocean IMO. I've installed full perimeter 12mm overspill glass and Aluminium slide rails for the Hallides. These can be slid along the entire length depending on coral requirements etc. Water parameters ok.... but still a little murky...just added carbon...skimmer coming soon. should be clear tomorrowish. Ammonia 0 Nitrite 0 Nitrate .05 Po4 0.15 Managed to catch my Sailfin...so I got something to look at!! Will add friends when skimmer has cleaned nutrients completely. (Water still has Tanins). Its taken around 5 hours to fine tune my DERSO to exactly match return feed flow. Overflow level is now 10mm below tank level and is nice and quiet.

Plumbing shots....decided to use clear hose all the way to the sump for smooth flow. NOTE: middle shot is pipework that will be permanently behind new bath in bathroom.

Leak test this morning.......overflow. All good.

If youre in the suburbs...I would say yes.

I am Rural and use rain water...I use a Microlene filter only designed for tank water.....My tank loves it, including SPS. Suburbs....different story....Chimera would be more up on it than I....

Either/or....just a useful valve for emptying tank level without using mechanical means....I have a drain valve at the sump that drains outside. Just handy.
