  1. I reckon 1100 could definitely be an issue. I think Chim has been running at that for awhile, as his reactor hasnt been keeping up. Im running 20k and my acros are very colourful.
  2. Come and get some Mg off me....I thought you running at about 1100. It wont be your lighting or your water parameters. MG, Corbonate and Calcium HAVE to be spot on.
  3. Well....it still didnt say how to get them into the cup! I havent got any yet, but what damage do they cause anyway?
  4. I didnt realise Acropora could withstand the heat of the sun whilst out of the water for long periods....Awesome. Out of one of my books....great book.
  5. Sweet, hold it for me!! 8)
  6. Why arent you using it?
  7. What, the one on your trailer, or do you have another? And...how much?
  8. Waitoki, Going to buy a trailer for it!
  9. Chim...yeah, 1500 ltrs is my aim, any bigger and too much work.
  10. Yeah, but that IS where the overflow goes to isnt it? (The sump) But I get your point!
  11. What I need to get sorted is whether to run my skimmer before or after my Caulerpa fuge areas. Does anyone know the benefits of the best place to skim or does it not really matter? I'd actually like to run another 1250 TURBO alongside the other one, but am not sure if this would suffice. These skimmers are efficient, tidy and easy to control. Maybe one with the fuge, and the other before the main return feed! Sounds good to me. Has this been done before.....REEF? Any info welcome!
  12. Hey guys....going to be upgrading tank in 5 or 6 months, so am gonna hit the planning now, well before setup and transition time. In the new setup, I will be running the main display with nothing but drilled external pump streamlike jets, similar to a spa pool. These holes will be about 4 inches under the overflow level and two each end. They will also have swivel heads or the likes. This will give me my current flow. each one will be around 4000LPH. I will be running a hospital tank for new intakes that will run with the main system continuously, with 1 piece of large live rock and a cheap skimmer, (Queen, probably). Upon a new entrant into the hospital tank, I will turn the skimmer on and shut of the pumps and shut of the main valve to the display/main sump. Instant Hospital tank whenever I need it for 3 to 4 weeks. I am actually building a room for an inwall display tank with 1.5 metres operating room behind. this room will be dedicated "THE TANK ROOM!". The display tank will be around 1.8 metres by 700 by 700.
  13. His tank has changed a million per cent in 10 months. Time to look for real again I think. Awesome.
  14. For the sake of guaranteeing the complete removal by using a skimmer, it seems bloody stupid not to use one. Maybe they're dicks arent big enough, so they are trying to prove something!
  15. My ones climb rocks in order to get higher.

    Tank envy

    Just need a big eheim.
  17. Must be a continuous battle without a skimmer. But very impressive. Either the DSB or the MM must be doing all the work and possibly the LR, still......unbelievable really.
  18. Mmmm....Thinking of that..... This is going to be a job and a haf, i can tell!
  19. We have just bought five acres further North and will have major difficulties with tank transitions. I will do this if I have to, but am prepared to move on to an experienced reefer. I will be upgrading and have designed an in wall tank room for the main lounge in the new house! (BIGGER)! The house is large and may take 4-5 months to complete, so temp. storage tanks sounds like a pain in the arse. May be easier to start again....damn it! 90% chance of the move happening. Any serious offers will be considered. No guarantees, as I may sell it with the house also if the purchaser has the balls to take it on!! I HAVE SPENT A LOT ON THIS GORGEOUS CUBE! ACRO'S are looking great. No problems if not interested, I will keep it and struggle with the move!!! Cheers guys!

    Chemicals.

Chemicals have arrived. Let me know who would like some. Cheers craig
  21. 1200 is probably more than enough anyway. Takapuna, (Waitemata harbour reads 1200 regularly). I still prefer to run at 1350. gives the SPS an extra amount just in case they want a growth spurt!!
