  2. Just keep an eye on it, get a nem as soon as your tank is perfect, nems need a stable mature tank.
  3. the clown will eventually annoy the torch to death, LPS dont really appreciate the clowns attentions.....
  4. I normally collect it the sign written Van "Puttgsreen Florist" and heard people muttering "now we know the secret to makeing the flowers last" ....................
  5. Already told you what they are
  6. Very common all around the coasts, one of the commonest, and as LA says they are good stingers and can become a pest if the start to spread. Beaut colours though!

    Poor Knights has some resident.
  11. I suggest you do it properly, use live rock, get a cheap but effective skimmer, and still do regular water changes. No skimmer, no live rock, and a nitrate factory for filtration (read canister filter) is not the way to run any salt water tank for any reasonable duration, a week or 2 maybe, but after that?? Just because the animals are free, no reason to subject them to septic conditions.
  12. very poor service, yet always asking for people to buy locally???

Get some astrea snails, or even some periwinkles from a rock pool somewhere - they last for a time in warm water, so maybe swap them out every month or so. You should pay about $10 per astrea snail if you can find someone selling some.

Patience, it'll go, and when it does it will be quick. Nothing good happens fast in a marine tank, an oldie, but true.
  15. as it builds up, siphon what you can off as you do water changes, it will go, to be replaced by green hair algae, just do exactly the same, siphon off what you can, and that to will slowly wane.
  16. Not quite sure what major algae, as opposed to minor algae?? Anyway, phos remover is not needed at this stage, however, when you need it aquamedic make the best around, without the ridiculous deltec price. Give me a yell when you need some.
  17. , no, listen to what people say or research, your algae is completely normal and is a good thing at this early stage. Be care of product pushing and advise aimed at "getting at other people". Wait, the algae will grow, then start to wane and then disappear, as long as you keep normal maintenance and water changes up. You cannot take shortcuts to avoid this, it is completely as it should be.
  18. yep, use deltec and magically avoid every normal maturing cycle  Watch the bull.
  19. You will get cycles of algae/diatom/cyno for a few months after the nitrogen cycle. Your nitrate is building and algaes use it, it can take 6-12 months until your rock is fully cycled and working to convert nitrate.
  20. dont think so, normal old hair alage. Doesn't look "feathery" enough? or at least the species of bryopsis thats the big problem in some tanks.
