  1. I've had flat worms since early on and they don't cause any problems. they come and go in quantity, sometimes the population explodes somewhat and they can look a bit unslightly, but I keep them under control by just siphoning them out each week during my water change. Another form of nutrient export . I considered nuking them but did a bit of research on the net and found the likes of Bob Fenner on WWM saying much the same as above, just let them be, siphon them off, and learn to live with them. Pies may have a differnt view, and he may even decide to come on the board a give it to you
  2. Chim, your Ca and Kh shouldn't be dropping that much in a week if your reactor is working correctly. My tank, with alot of coral growth and coraline growth, Ca only drops maybe 2-3ppm a week and Kh never changes with the reactor working.
  3. Awesome Cracker, very happy zoos I'd say

    Ph

I don't know Wasp, I think everyone except you 2 get alot of enjoyment out of your debates
  5. Sushi is fine, eating well, loves the red sea granules, and nori, and eats the tips of the caulpera. No sign of white spot since the first week.
  6. Well, its about 3 months since we all got our PBT's, most from a special deal at Jansens. One comment from an esteemed reef keeper questioned how many would still be alive after 1 month. Lets hear it....
  7. we should start other one like this, see what has changed, what new tanks are out there??

    Lights

Yep. Thanks PC100, that what I wanted to know as well. The original bulbs have been good for the corals but aren't blue enough for my liking either, seems to be a common thought. What did you settle with PC.

    Cool Video

excellent, watched all of it. Thanks for the link.
  16. I refuse to give my lot any more nori, until they eat all the caulpera (sp?)
  17. Zeovit - does it really work
  18. 1100 litres, one 500watt heater on a weipro controller. Airconditioner runs in the fish room during summer. Temp fluctuates between 25.0 and 25.5. Very pleased.
  19. I think so but for a limited time??? 5 minutes maybe.
  20. Whats all the grumbling about your tank Ben, everything looks great. Some good encrusting going on with the acros. Interesting edge growth on the orange monti.
  21. I have to agree with Chimera. The calculator is very accurate, the chemicals supplied by medchem are medical grade chemicals complete with test certs. A pointless argument Cracker.
  22. Monti nudibranches are white, and the do strip montis down to bare white patches. They can be hard to see but look at the affected areas, especially around the edges of the white patches. they are 2-5mm long, look like a flat slug and have protuberances (sp?) on the back so they look slightly hairy. I hope you don't have them, as there is no effective way to rid your tank of them except take out all your montis. They will not affect any other corals except montis. Do you have any other montipora?, esp capricornis, as this is there favourite and you will see them on the under side of this coral more than any other. My digitalis is the only monti they haven't touched.
