I dont use NSW , but probably will when i move to Kerikeri. (another tank upgrade coming up - bigger and better)

time and patience is the best method. Siphon it out, keep up with water changes and skimming, these cyno and algae cycles are normal in a new tank for several months.

thanks wasp, they are 2 differnt corals, and look different in person. the 3rd one down has purple tips, white polyps, and the base has a purple rim as it encrusts. The 4th picture down is my fav. Its very blue, large extended polyps amongst the branches, and has grown rapidly around a piece of live rock to completely enclose it. Both are in strong light, directly under one of the 250w halides, about 10 - 15cm from the top of the water. They are in pretty high flow as well, which is important because they are quite dense. Both have 2 arco crabs in them. I feed Pohls CV only.

yep, bits of paper sounds familiar. Keep them on a clip borad in fishroom. Tanks in shed, as you know chimera, so things like bulb replacements, RODI unit dates, and when corals purchased etc written with marker pen on the walls :lol:

arcadia series 3 - triple, original 250w DE 14k arcadia bulbs. Bulbs now 11 months old and looking for replacements. Want something slightly bluer than these, although the corals like them. Not prepared to pay $250each though (sorry Fay )

And chimera, it wasn't a criticism, just a observation. Some of us have been in this hobby for alot longer than 2 years. Time on this board isn't a indication of experience.
