But how can carbon, by its self, bleach corals. It has to be more than just the carbon. You could say that if the carbon was added with say 250w lights that it may have not had the same effect. Carbon by its self may have done no damage at all

When they say reef safe i don't think they mean clams shrimp etc. Mt trigger has never caused any problems

It could be a combo of the carbon and the lights.

Yeah the shallow wells are like 10m deep, they are mixing the water from the shallow wells with water from the deeper ones to balance the ph. All the new wells now are going to be 30m + so they won't have the same problem. The also use clorine on some of the resivors from time to time.

Yeah piranha, closest place to us is the coast Don't know what all the fuss is about, they are nothing special.

I use Fosroc Siliaflex RTV. In my view it is one of the better glues. Gives a nice smooth finish. Have made hundreds of tanks with no dramas at all.

The CCC don't adjust pH, it just comes as is out of the ground Clorine is added every now and then

keep a close eye on it. Sometimes clams spawn just before they die.

Easy, send a letter to customs asking for an exemption for undenatured ethanol. you do need a good reason though. Then you can only get it in 20ltr containers, about $160 i think.

Soak in acetic acid over night, give it a bit of a scrub and it will look like new

You can get osram 865 (6500k) and now osram 880 (sky white 8000k) The only t5s i have seen are the osram 865 which are 6500k, they do not make a higher k bulb. Not sure on other companys though.

I spose another question is what wattage is required for our sized tanks?? Is a smaller unit better than nothing? that is say a 25w compared to a 40 or 50w??

I have a vectron 25w that i am about to put on, will let you no how it goes. The main difference i have found witht the good onves vrs the bad is the distance between the uv bulb and the quatz sleve. The pond ones are designed to just reduce algae in ponds, where the good ones kill bacteria.

This camera is a few years old and has had some major use, has been used daily for a good couple of years at its peak. It is also borrowed of the inlaws as they now have a wole range of cameras. Graphic design is ther thing. If i could find another one for sale i would buy it in a second. Great camera and top macro to.
