    Clam question???

Kh is quite high to. Lift the clam up, can you see any cone shaped snails? about 2mm long. The tube worm may have been causing the clam to close up all the time.

  10. Hey how offen do you guys calibrate your pH meters? Speaking to someone today who said you need to do a check daily (each time you use them). and allow them to "warm up so to speak for about 10mins as well as soaking the probe in water (tank water) for at least 20mins before use.
  11. some from tonight and some from today. pH = 8.12 (lab) PO4 = 0.015 (lab) NO3 = 3.6 ppm (lab) kH = 8.6 (salifert) Ca = 410 (salifert) Mg = 1340 (salifert) Salinity = 1.025

  13. I have had mine now for about 3.5 years, she eats frozen brine and sometimes dried food. So with a bit of time you may get luckly.
  14. any spray paint will work, dulux is cheap and does a nice job.
  15. you will get the fungus if the parents are not much good at looking after them. Most breeder will pull the eggs out and put then into another tank (no need to be large, smaller is better at first.). Add a few drops of meth blue, this will help to stop the eggs from getting fungus. Also no need for anything else in the tank other than an airstone bubbling slow over the eggs. after a week add a small air powered sponge filter. Not the only way, but one of the better ones i think.

    New bulbs pics

I got some reeflux 12k DE bulbs a couple of months ago. I quite like them they are not as bright as my old bulbs though (XM10k). Will stick with them a bit longer. Would be nice if they were brighter but the look of them is great. Light output 6/10 (reeflux) Light output 8/10 (XM) Color 8/10 (reeflux) Color 5/10 (xm)

  22. They can also block the tubes etc up which can cause the bloated look. Do you use any other cleaning products around the tank? Does the temp move up and down heaps.?
  23. What were the fish? did you get them all at the same time? Did they do anything before they died, flicking? darting? bumping into things? were they eating fine?
