    Good bye Copper band

Well in short yes. also stops them getting blocked as easy, and sucking air from the surface depending on how high you have them. Flows better to i think, i have also cut the front of all mine off, current is not as strong but it is spread out way more.

  12. the red sea prizm are crap, not worth the money, waste of time and they preform like shit. Different story about the classics but still crap compared to many others, the chamber volume is wasted by all those pointless baffels and cones and other crap. don't waste your money, couldn't give the things away. Go the Timtec, only way to go

what type/color is the star, i hear the greenish ones can eat small fish.
  14. same took 2 - 3 weeks before i notice them gone, i have never seen him eat them. Just wait and see
  15. use some joes juice or calcium on the big ones, they will then turn into lots of small ones that the copper band will eat.

ok another cheap option could be a remote DSB basically get a big bucket of sand and pump water over it. May pay to do a bit of reading, joeblog may be able to point you in the right direction
  19. true did not think of that for ponds. iron based po4 removers (like rowaphos) have been used over seas for ruducing po4 etc in large lakes.

looks like a cool project. Would be a bit concerned how efficent this would be at reducing nitrates. if you were wanting it for pods etc, then i see no problem.

don't use one either, cause i don't want to I would look at other methods to reduce your nitrate cooking your rock vodka or ethanol no sand probio bigger skimmer
