  1. why gravel? it just makes it harder to clean.
  2. just a bare tank with heater, a filter with low current and something for them to lay their eggs on.
  3. it doesnt really matter what you use.
  4. I would say I have to agree with caryl and rob.
  5. I use old tall fish food container for them to lay there eggs on. The bigger the tank the better and make sure the tank is tall. Try feed them white worms every so often as it has alot of fat that helps egg with production.
  6. Iv never heard of pink frogs either. Maybe they died it pink.
  7. I guess they could go together. I just wouldnt have a 2cm frog with an arowana or a neon tetra with something the size of a cane toad. Also salt harms frogs so the water should never have salt added.
  8. I see that you like tetras. welcome aboard.
  9. Must have been a typo but if you spray freeze dried bloodworms with warm water they re-hydrate.
  10. I also have fish that will only eat bloodworms. But i only feed them white worms occasionally since they have high fat. If I cant get bloods worms my fish will die too. Maybe I could culture my own? Anyone know how to do this?
  11. Im pretty sure kongs imports most of it. I dont think NZ makes aqua-one bloodworms.
  12. that isnt good. Why is MAF so strict. Do you know about the other frozen foods or is it just bloodworm?

    no pump

If it a air pump powering an air driven filter I would get a new one as soon as possible. If it is a water pump powering a filter I would get one as soon as possible. If it is a airpump connected to a airstone I wouldnt worry to much.
  14. Where abouts did you get them? If you manage to breed them let me know. I would suggest basic water because they are an african. Do some research on the net.

    Swordtails

I have heard that the males that develope are better quality than the ones that grow them fast. My mate who breeds them thought he had a whole lot of females and they turned into males..

    Any help........

I am think about ira's idea. How do I get a hole cut in my tank? Is there anything I should put over the hole so that fish cant get in or so the pipe doesnt get clogged? Where abouts should I have the hole cut, How far up the side of the glass? My tank is right beside a window. So this be be the best idea.
  17. Ok. On my 288 litre tank I am going to set up a system that removes %20 percent of the water over a week. I will just use a clamped airtube for this. But while the water is removed I want it replaced with fresh water. Anyone got any ideas how I could do this. It needs to be able to be attached to a ordinary garden tap. If this works out I will probably set up a system like the above on all my tanks. Also any pictures or suggestions would be good. thanks
  18. When I lived in the Philippines I could find that stuff washed up along the beaches.
  19. Woa. A much shorter time than I thought.
  20. Ok. I put a mixture of rolled oats and corn flower 2 cm thick and a sprinkle of yeast. It is quite wet and like a hard jelly. I put a teaspoon of my other microworm culture. I expect it to be a while till it starts producing. Does anyone know how long?
  21. I have once left one of my heaters off for about week. I unpluged it when I had to lower the water below where the heter was placed. The other tanks in my room must have kept it warm.
  22. those are some cool looking fish, I wouldnt mind getting some. Where did you get them and how much money??
  23. By connecting a airpump that pumps 300 litres of air and hour, Am I correct by saying that 300 litres (roughly) of water will be driven through the filter making it a 300 litre per hour filter? thanks

    Floating Fish

Might be something to do with gas inside the fish. What flake food do you feed them?
