Its a big floating plant with the roots in a big clump in the centre. The rest of the plant has much different leaves and there are just a few of these types.

  10. I would like to see how other countries have animals imported. I think NZ would be one of the more strict.
  11. If you in japan can you just go to the seafood market, Im sure they have live octopus there.
  12. Get a flat peice of slate or pottery and place it on the gravel (not tightly) . The snails will gather under there to lay eggs. You can remove the snails and there eggs whenever you want.
  13. the vetenarian approved by MAF (that you employ) confirms the species and checks it against the "allowed list". If it isnt on the list it is destroyed imediatly.
  14. Im pretty sure the facility has to be a entire building, even just a little shed or something. The building has to be dedicated to the quarentine.
  15. http://www.maf.govt.nz/biosecurity/bord ... -02-06.htm MAF doesnt hold the fish, you have to find a place that is approved by MAF.
  16. I have the MAF file in txt format that has everything you need to know about the facility eg about importing fish into NZ. You need a whole single roomed building just for the tanks and when you leave you have to have pretty much everything sterilized. You also have to employ a MAF approved vet to make regular checks. If your still interested I will email the file to you or find the link.
  17. I dont think life jackets come in such a small size. Even if they did I would have to make little instruction booklets for them.
  18. The only ones I have seen have been in cold water tanks. I dont think they eat plants.

    Shrimps missing

I read in one of my books that you should never remove shrimp from the water. so even when transfering into another tank they should still be fully submersed.
  21. Ok temp now is going to be 28 degrees. Ill have a collection of insects I find around the house for feeding them. The fry are hard because they dont look for food but eat what ever comes very close to them. Anyone know what I could about that? Maybe I should get some of those golden pearls and see how they work seeing that they float and the fry stay near the surface. Anyone know how to make micro worms float??
