Hey Just saw these on the internet and was thinking of getting some for my dwarf cichlids. How thick approximatly are they and do they sink or float? Do you rekon they will be good for apisto juvinilles and adults? thanks

Hey I found my female betta dead this morning. Where she would have her eggs stored was a lighter colour than usual and she kept dropping eggs yesterday (about 100 eggs). When I found her, she was quite fat compared to how she normaly was. Does anyone know what happened here? thanks

If I were to get shells when the weather clears up should I put them in the oven? Will it make a difference to how it effects the water? thanks

I use gravel that is a whole lot of colours, I think its called fruit salad. Could I just use normal shells to raise the buffering capacity of my water, as there is an estuary about 2 minutes away from my house?

I actuly just did a %20 on my 112 litre tank and the pH went from 6 to 6.4. I will probably do the same tomorow. Does anyone know where to buy limestone or crushed oyster shell? thanks for your help

becoming more acidic. I finally got a pH test last night and tested my tap water, it was 7.4 which would have been right. I then took the results of my 112 litre tank, it was 6, but what I dont understand is why is my water more acidic. The tank has a filter, a heater and a thin layer a gravel. The rest of my tanks are about 6.4. And only have gravel, heaters, filters, water and fish. I havnt played with my waters chemistry. Is it leftover food that is causing this? thanks

Hey I just noticed that my female badis badis might have hole in the head. She has a patch of white between her top dorsal fin and her eyes and she has no scales in that area. Is this hole in the head or somthing else? She has just been breeding so it may have been and injury. If it is HITH how should I treat it? thanks

Could you juts tell me if this is a good idea or not? In my 288 litre tank I had a 250 watt heater on each end. I measured the tempreture at each end and one end was warmer than the other. So I put both heaters on either side of the inlet to my external filter. Is this the best way to distrubute heat evenly throughout my tank? thanks

Rams are South american cichlids are they not? I'm looking for african cichlids as I havnt seen many around except mainly kribs.

Hey The tank is 45cm x 45cm x 170cm and holds 288 litres. The water will be normal tap water and tanks mates will be dwarf cichlids, rams, blue rams , golden rams and probably some killifish are compatable with the water conditions.
