  2. Yeah, tried the local plumber + pump guy - but @ NZ$5.00 each not really an option if you need 50 of those
  3. Hi there, I'm after a 4mm Hose Tail with one end threaded - even better if it is a elbow like THIS one. Any idea where I can buy them in NZ? Cheers, JaSa
  4. Might be your way in a couple of weeks and would be keen to swap... Cheers, JaSa
  5. Hi blueether Have a big albino male here if you wanna borrow him for a few weeks. All the ladies are not quite old enough but he is fanning away in his bamboo cave like there is no tomorrow. Pretty sure he would love to look after real eggs for a change... Cheers, JaSa
  6. Plants, heaps of plants...
  7. Perfect to put your glass under stress and risk a crack JaSa
  8. @ Reaver: You should drop in one day and take some of them PM me if you want... Tell me all about it Back in a previous life I had a fish room full of livebearers like Alfaro cultratus, Belonesox belizanus, Limia nigrofasciata, Girardinus metallicus, Xiphophorus xiphidium, Neoheterandria elegans, Heterandria formosa, ... and many wild strains of guppies and platies. Here I'm happy to have four strains of Endler Guppies... Cheers, Jaa
  9. "Moscow Guppy" isn't really a fixed term - not even his origin is clear. Have a read HERE and HERE: What I'm try to say is, that if you ask for a "Moscow Guppy" there is a hugh spectrum of Guppies that fit the definition but might not be the ones you are after... Cheers, JaSa PS: There are very nice full green metallic guppies on TM every now and then...
  10. Thanks blueether, should stop in next time you drive past - hugh changes going on here What a shame - I have another lot to get rid of. Teach your natives some manners how to eat properly, harhar ! Cheers, JaSa
  11. F1 of Tiger Endler x Red Chest Endler: Albino Swallow Tail Female: On the way to "Super White": Red gone, Black gone, Orange gone, Blue gone - just Yellow (and Guanin) left to breed out. Offtopic, sorry - Bleeding Heart Platy's: These are for sale by the way... In 8 weeks time there will be pictures of the first F1 on the way to a pure Albino Black Bar Endler. The first fry got dropped yesterday and mum was very well behaved Cheers, JaSa
  12. When it comes to surface area - which is what you want for filtration - and flowrate then no packing foam beats open-cell poret foam. Think about it: Packing foam has to be flexible and needs a lot of cushion effect for its porpose. This comes from closed cells and soft material. Closed cells are pretty much useless for filtration due to the lack of surface for bacteria to live. The softness is achieved with plasticizer which will slowly leech into your tank and the foam disintegrates after a few years. Been there, done that - waste of time and money in the long run... JaSa
  13. Don't go thicker with your poly - it will be worse !!! If you put weight on polystyrene, it "compresses" most around the sides because that is where the material can escape the pressure coming from top. On the other hand, in the middle the polystyrene can't go anywhere and you will end up with a slight hump in your sheet under your tank. The thicker the sheet and the bigger the tank (weight) the bigger this effect. Means, thick sheets put more pressure on your tank and totally fail the purpose - wich is to level out LITTLE irregularities in the surface of the stand / base. No tank needs more than 10mm of polystyrene to do this job... Cheers, JaSa
  14. If you know how to use Google you will find at least 2 sources to get it from here in NZ. BUT that stuff is that dangerous I wouldn't want it anywhere near me or my pets - just check out the MSDS, shocking... Cheers, JaSa
  15. Color - he's got some wild traits there but not very typicall, but lets call it a yes; Tail - no wild guppy can afford such a tail and survive to breed, no. => Not a wild type - but still a nice guppy. JaSa

    Endlers?

I have four different pure strains. Pictures of them can be found in the according section... Cheers, JaSa

    Guppy

"Endler" is most of the time (how should I put it...?) a 'generously used expression' here in NZ :digH: But they are definitely nice Albinos - have the same strain swimming here...

    Brimstone on TM?
  19. Hi guys, found out that Flagellol is per VET prescription only here in NZ - Epsom Salt seems the way to go then ... Thanks for your help, JaSa
  20. Hi there, I am after three products from Sera: Tremazol (active ingredients = Praziquantel) for treating internal & external worms. Protacol (active ingridients = Methylene Blue) for treating White Spots. Flagellol (active ingridients =5-Nitro-1,3-thiazol-2-ylazan) for treating Flagellates. Found products for the first two to replace, but still looking for something to threat Flagellates. Soaking crushed, tiny flakes in 3% Epsom Salt solution is just not practical for small fish... Cheers, JaSa
  21. Some more pictures of the latest guppies in my tanks: Albino Swallow Tail female. Here I tried to rebuild a Japan Blue Guppy. Not too bad and if you cross in some metallic you should reach the goal in 3 generations. But no room at the moment so they are in the feeder fish tank - for now. Might change my mind on the one in the first picture... Cheers, JaSa
  22. Breed for colours - feeding (a lot) of Astaxanthin is cheating :digH: JaSa
  23. Thanks for the feedback Another strain found it's way in my fish room thanks to Zane Brimstone: The Swallow Tail Guppy There will be some nice yellow male Albino Swallow Tails swimming around shortly... Cheers, JaSa
  24. Another Endler Strain made it to NZ - Red Chest Endler: The Tiger Endler doing fine and the young ones are starting showing color now: Very nice Albino Double Swords - not my breeding work but swimming now in my tanks Cheers, JaSa
