  1. Everything but the cylinder you can get from fishstreet.com, hff sells cylinders.
  2. :iag: that looks way better, are you leaving it bare bottom?
  3. Barbs should be fine dude, he's been in with them and black widows before for quite some time. Only fish he ever fought with was a rtbs. Just keep him fed.
  4. I had a chance to get some of these a few weeks back but the bank (woman) said no, I actually expected the price to be higher so may have to ask her again lol, $500 sounds better than the $750 that I guessed.
  5. Um Mel, maybe you should do some reading online before you say keeping goldfish in a heated tank is not a good thing and that we are giving bad advice, I have heard of a lot of people keeping them successfully in tanks with temps upto 28c, most tropical tanks will be around 24c which is no more than your pond heats up to on a hot summer day. Your goldfish were probably stressed and gasping for air because you didn't cycle the tank and didn't put enough oxygen in there with them, nothing to do with temp, did you think of that? Maybe next time you want to say that someone's advice is wrong you might want to back up your theory with some facts or evidence.
  6. That tank is much too small for all of the fish you have in it. Upgrade or get rid of the fish and keep the snails.
  7. They will be fine in a tropical tank, only thing I would be worried about is diseases from the gold fish passing on to other fish.
  8. No vets down here will be associated with animates I would think considering there isn't an animates store within 600+km of here lol. Sad thing is if I did actually need it right now it would be cheaper financially to just let the discus waste away and die than get a prescription and treat them, to me this is wrong. Reading up on it might have to get my partner to ask her doctor for a prescription, cheaper that way lol.
  9. Already got prazi, after metro lol.
  10. Hey guys rang a few of the local vets today to try to get some metro to have on hand for my discus especially as I am about to attempt breeding them and was aghast when I got told the prices not to mention all 3 vets said I have to bring a fish in so they can diagnose it or pay them to do a home call and even then they may not write me a prescription for it, if I did get a prescription and get it in liquid form each 500ml will cost $15 each or $11-13 each per 400mg tablet, is this normal or are my local vets just trying to earn a pretty penny at my expense? I find it ridiculous that this is even a prescription medication in NZ when you can buy it off the shelf nearly anywhere else overseas for a fraction of the price we have to pay here! example; I found 100 400mg tablets for less than $25 nzd online. Is there anywhere else I can get some of this from?

wood looks really good but if I may say personally I would take a saw to those big root like pieces and make them sit level, would look much better imo dude

  18. Bit of :digH: but I was wondering if you have still got this plant or if you have ever seen it for sale again at organism Jen? I would severely love to get my hands on a pup or 2...
  19. I find myself being really excited about how this tank will turn out after seeing the planted tank that it was, going to look awesome.
