  1. Nice hoplo, they are my favorite fish, and I have 3 of them in my tank, not sure about there sex's. Personally they seem to do better in groups, so you might want to get your 'Hover' some play mates some time in the future.
  2. :slfg: :slfg: :slfg: :slfg: welcome, and looking forward to seeing pictures of your wonderful sounding tanks
  3. welcome, hope you have a great time here, and find help whenever you need it.
  4. :slfg: :slfg: :slfg: :slfg: I thought when driving you were supposed to be playing 'chicken'. First one to give away loses.
  5. I would imagine that it would cause your pH to drop quite alot as all citrus is acidic
  6. welcome, I hope you have a good time on this site
  7. 6 exams to go before i have finished school for life. So happy, except for that i have 2 scholarships coming up on saturday and wednesday. @ myfishybuisness: you shouldn't be using your exams as a reason to not clean, use cleaning your tanks as a break from studying.
  8. I have access to loads of dead tee tree, and i was wondering if it could be used as drift wood, and what would need to do to make it aquarium safe.
  9. +1 I am fairly sure they are the same as the snail eggs I get
  10. hahaha, this was so funny it has made my day
  11. So where in botany is it? I am going to have to go and check it out.
  12. I have my two adult red eared turtles in a pond out side, it is currently about 200L. I want to upgrade the pond size but have limited funds to do it with. What is the most cost effective way to get a pond for my turtles that doesnt cost much money, time and effort are not of as much concern. I have thought about pond liners, but i am afraid my turtles will put holes in it which wouldnt be good, so if any one has had any experience with them please tell. And also any other ideas would be much appreciated. I would like to thank any one who gives ideas in advance, and sorry for rambling on.
  13. It is the same gut breathing, and no matter how aerated the water is i doubt they would stop it completely, as it is natural for them, i just want to make sure that they font hurt them selves when they do it, in there hitting the lid.
  14. they usually just do that, but the last couple of nights i have been hearing them hit the lid, and i know they can jump high if needed as one jumped out when my lid was off for a water change last weekend
  15. Sounds awesome, jealous of you already. But you forgot to do one thing... Pictures!!!!!!
  16. I have 3 hoplo catfish in my 200L tank. When ever they are going to breath they are hitting the glass lid on the top, How low would I have to drop the water level so they don't hit it and risk hurting them selves? Ps. they already have a 2 cm gap.
  17. Nearest library is 30 minute drive away, so that wont work. Obviously I have no will power then... That sounds allot like my day today, not good considering i was supposed to do a full day of study
  18. Why when ever I go to study do I always end up doing tank maintenance instead? I swear that in the last week of trying to study my tanks have had more stuff done to them then they have had done all year.
  19. It was a great aquarium, and it is sad that the fish have probably died. If they were right in saying it is a suspicious fire , I hope the catch who did it.
  20. Awesome tank, looks like it needs more fish though...
  21. That is good, although with maths you should always be aiming for excellence, as any thing less is disappointing. You should always do as many questions as you can in your head and not with the calculator, it helps your understanding of how maths works, and makes the harder maths later on easier to understand. Sorry for the rant, its just maths is cool, dont let any one tell you it isnt
  22. I dont know why every one is so against snails, they are not that unsightly, trumpet snails at-least dont damage plants and you can use them as a extra food source for some fish when needed, which is good, my puferes love it when i add some snails to there tank, and it is so awesome to watch them hunting
