  1. :sml1: He looks so content in that photo though. If someone played the violin in front of our cats they would go nuts. They absolutely hate high pitched noises and things like cellphone rings and whistling.
  2. Yeah true. We only have two bedrooms here and 2 kids so at the moment there isn't much room. But I guess if I did some rearranging I may be able to fit a larger tank in somewhere......
  3. Not the ones I want. I like the Pseudotropheus Demasoni   And I only have a 64L tank.
  4. I wish I could but they need a bigger tank and you need at least a dozen. One day... lol
  5. I'm hoping that I have two males lol But I'm looking at them thinking they look a bit different... so hmmm lol I forgot to ask for two males. I don't really want to breed yet as I'm still new to this. I know all my guppies are males. I don't know about my WCMMs.... I think one is female but she hasn't layed eggs as of yet and I've had them for about 2-3 months now.
  6. Yeah I wish my parents gave me lectures. They never said a thing and I didn't do that well at school. I don't really have any qualifications. Just School Certificate and Sixth Form certificate. I regret not trying harder now. But I do believe it's never too late. My mum didn't do that well at school either but she studied after leaving school through correspondence and has good qualifications now. And then, sometimes they really mean nothing IMO My husband who has no real qualifications outside of high school, like me, and he earns more than my mum :dunno: Another thing that sucks... student loans .... you get a huge student loan to qualify to do something like nursing, and then can't even find a job, so have to move overseas to pay off your student loan. There aren't enough jobs available. And also I believe people should do what makes them happy, not what their parents/anyone else wants them to do.
  7. Thanks yeah I will ask hubby if he can get it for me for my birthday which is at the end of October.... I'll order it about 2-3 weeks before then.
  8. I don't know much but could it be an anchor worm? :dunno:
  9. No it doesn't look cloudy. Just normal color with a black fuzzy ring around the centre of the colored part of the eye. Maybe it's normal.
  10. Yeah thankfully they didn't go through anything here as they didn't have time to. But just the thought of some scumbag being in our house is enough. I feel sorry for my sister ... when her place got broken into a few years ago they went through all the clothes in the cupboard and chucked everything on the floor and she wanted to wash all the clothes even though they were 'clean'. I would have wanted to too. I couldn't wait for the police to fingerprint so I could clean up. I just wanted to make everything look normal again so it wouldn't feel like someone had been in our house. I still have to wash the curtains as they have mud on them too GRRR and a soft toy from the girls room that was stood on. I had to take all the chair covers off our dining chairs (well 3 out of 4 of them) and wash them because they had mud on them and the dining table had been walked/climbed on as it's right against the wall. And some of the curtain rod rings were broken so I need to replace those. :an!gry Still, that's nothing compared to how bad it could have been. It just peeves me off.
  11. Mmmm it's only happened to us 2x. The first time was when I moved in here back in April 99. It was the day after I moved in, before the security stays had been put on the windows. But it was alarmed and monitored. It was Easter Sunday and we were at my grandparents house in Kawakawa Bay. That was especially hard because I lived here on my own then. So it's been over 12 years and I guess I was feeling pretty secure here and when the alarm company phoned I thought it was a false alarm because we've been having problems with our alarm system for about the last two years and only last Saturday we got a call from the security company because the alarm was going off. So I was really shocked when my husband told me that someone HAD actually broken in. It's the violated feeling that is worst of all KWIM
  12. HAHA Anthony The rings are ON the eyes, not around the edge. Basically right in the middle of the colored part of the eye. And they're not clear cut solid rings. They are fuzzy kind of rings... if that makes sense.
  13. Totally agree Caryl :an!gry  Rabbit - oooh what did you do? I'm glad that they were gone when we came home because that would have freaked the girls out majorly. TBH it would have freaked me out too. I found it hard enough to sleep last night... kept hearing noises and having bad dreams GRRR
  14. Well we got a phone call from Nutech Security yesterday as we were driving home from the LFS to say the alarm was going off. Someone broke in through the dining room window. But nothing was taken. They didn't have a chance. They just made a mess with their muddy shoes and stuffed up the window and the curtain rod. :an!gry  Had to sleep in girls room last night because my 7yo didn't want to sleep in her bed.
  15. LOL I don't even have 'study' .. just housework and taking care of the kids. And I would still rather clean my fish tank/sit and watch the fish than do the housework lol
  16. Yesterday I got 2 orange/yellow Platys and 3 male fancy guppies.
  17. I had a look there yesterday. Unfortunately they seem to have sold out of the 60cm ones... so will have to wait for them to get more....
  18. Honestly I don't really care. Something where you could possibly adjust the brightness like you can with touch lamps? If that's possible... :dunno:
