  1. He/she is a blue fantail... so fairly light in color I guess. But he/she is the only goldfish in the tank.
  2. Thanks. I found it hard to believe the lady considering most people that have tropical tanks have fairly small tanks eg 50-60L and most people that have tropical tanks have lights lol I'm thinking of putting a black background on my tank and having a light. At the moment I have a touch lamp sitting on the tank lid lol
  3. Hmmm I used Wunder Tonic 1x and added only 3 drops (64L tank) from memory, which was what I was told to add. 2 days later I had 3 dead guppies. So I will probably never use it again. I hope you had better success.
  4. Beautiful In My Eyes - Joshua Kadison.
  5. Just wondering do they make lights for 64L tanks? I asked at Animates and was told they don't make them for tanks this small. :dunno:
  6. Yeah when I had to rescue my one surviving fantail from the outdoor pond I put it in the tank with my minnows and wild guppies. Not sure what the temp was but at that time I didn't have a heater. It certainly would not have been as cold as the pond water. I put the fish into a bag in the pond water and put the bag into the tank and left it for about 15 mins before putting it into the tank. Then I ended up getting a heater not long after that... maybe two weeks later. I put the temp on 19C at first as that is the lowest temp it has on it. Then I raised it one degree a day. At the moment it's on 24-25C and the fantail is perfectly happy. It has gone higher (up to 28-29C) but at that point the fantail was gulping air at the surface so I turned it down. I also have a Bubbilo pump so that's adding extra oxygen to the water  My guppies are much happier now the water is warmer.
  7. It's starting to go away again. The rings are on the eyes, not around them. Sorry my description earlier wasn't that great.
  8. Well we ended up going to KT on the 10th. We got there before they opened and were the first people to go in :happy2: so didn't have to wait in a long line. Unfortunately we couldn't be there when they do the stingray feeding, as my sister had to drop her son off to his fathers place before 1pm because his birthday is one day before my 5 year olds, and his father was having a party for him on Saturday. But we still had fun. Managed to spend over $170 in the gift shop ... actually make that $205 inc. the photos    Oh and we got kicked out just when we got to the gift shop because the fire alarm went off... then waited outside for about half an hour or more... waiting for the supervisor to give the all clear for us to go back in. :an!gry The kids got to see a fire engine though lol Apparently they are going to have a seahorse exhibit soon.   :happy2: :happy2: :happy2:
  9. What would cause black rings right around the colored part of a fantail goldfish's eyes? I have seen it happen before and go away, now they're back again. :dunno:
  10. Well the water seems to be clear again... I don't know what to think lol How long does it take when you're cycling a tank generally, from when the water goes cloudy to when it clears again?
  11. Unfortunately, we don't have a credit card and neither do my parents anymore GRRR And also I have a friend who has some vouchers for free child entry with a paying adult so I can't book anyway, if I'm going to use the vouchers. Maybe we'll have to get there before they open in the morning and wait for the doors to open LOL
  12. Yeah not a bad idea actually... I hate waiting in long lines. And waiting in a line with small kids is even worse lol They have no patience....
  13. for my daughters 5th birthday. Either this Saturday or next. Depending on whether my father is working this Saturday or not. Haven't been there since 2004.
  14. I don't think it's overfeeding as I haven't found a single piece of food left over after feeding them... the goldfish eats whatever is left over LOL What do you mean by too many nutrients?
  15. Ya mean those things where you use your credit card or something to top up your account at home. My parents used to have this. There was a thing in one of their bedrooms ... but it was after I left home so I don't know much about it.
  16. Ok so my water was cloudy this morning when I checked on the fish. I did a water change but it's still really cloudy. I'm guessing it's part of the cycling process... from what I have read online... sounds like bacterial bloom. So I'm guessing that's a good thing....
  17. Yeah that's what my cats do... they're only interested for about 2 seconds. They do like fish though. Whenever we get fish and chips they bug us for some lol I'm a softie so I always give it to them.
  18. a couple of days ago I witnessed Mischief using her paw to eat her food. She was scooping it onto her paw from the bowl and then licking it off
  19. Thanks for that. I will definitely have a look.
  20. Yeah we bought the house off my parents and they had credit on their rates account and they said we could have it. I had forgotten about it lol
  21. now I remember - a water tank    Yeah that's another way.
  22. Our two cats are not really interested in the fish tank/fish at all :dunno: If I take them to it and show them they will watch the fish swimming around but they don't try to get them or climb onto the tank lid. They just don't really care.
