If you are not going to add co2 to the water then why would a sump not be ideal? If it's about flow I can add that the different swords i have do quite well with flow around them.

David would you agree that the fish we have in NZ is Satanoperca leucosticta? There is a true S. jurupari as well but afaik it's rare and never seen in NZ. I know it's the same old story of naming things wrong (like G. surinamensis) but I cringe so much it isn't funny every time I see the word jurApari :facepalm:

Yes that's a good idea! Have a look at Hypsophrys nicaraguensis. I have bred them before, they are lookers, very interresting and not that hard to breed.

It's cory eggs.. looks to be UNfertile When they remain clear they are fertile. When not fertile they go white inside quite quickly.

Yes, you should always do regular water changes no matter what your tests show. FYI Amonia is the real badie, the comes nitrite and then nitrate. Nitrate is the end product of the nitrogen cycle and can be used by plants. Try googeling "aquarium nitrogen cycle"

Sounds good. I like an optimist! although not a fan of albinos. How about some "wild type" discus. I don't mean wild caught, but some that resemble wild ones as close as possible... Perhaps a few generations down from wild caught ones... I would pay good money for those!

50% + 50% = 75% water change (unless you managed to only suck out the old water molecules ) Hope your angels will get better soon. Don't think temp is the problem. Afaik Angels are very happy around 26°. I wouldn't worry about trying to get bio filtration on your hospital tank. Sounds like it is nice and big and with the wc's you are doing I wouldn't imagine amonia becoming a problem. I think you are doing all the right things, now it's just finding the right cure. (I think starting with wunder tonic was a good idea, after that I would perhaps try Furan 2 if I was still unable to diagnose it more accurately)
