  1. Thanks Samh Hey ! I agree with you ! Inspiration came with these stones I found when I was hiking this summer near to a volcanic lake. When I saw them, said to myself :" Wow wow wow ! Wanna make a nano with !!!"
  2. Yes you're right. But not easy to find a little one. May be some rotala rotundifolia or a floating plant...
  3. Thanks Adrienne The landscape we're able to imagine is as important as the real aquascape we can see indeed. I try to let an opening to the look and to imagination. Don't want just to look at, I like to dream before it.
  4. Lol  May be, may be... I had to check in a dictionnary what was a lawn mowing, didn't know it yet !
  5. Thanks to all ! It's a 20 L tank, lighting 24w, DIY CO2 and a little filter inside. Plants grew in my pond this summer (the one made with a pool). Now, I got a lot of crypto, vallisneria, echinos, rotala, glosso, lilaeopsis, mosses, monoselenium. Gonna make another tanks with. Actually, wanna write a book about tanks. I met some publishers. Wait & see... Was a bit lost cause some told me it was Ok, but just a tank with 3 stones and some grass lol. Indeed I love this one, but as I worked hard on it, made several versions before this one, may be I wasn't enough critical. Thanks again I hope I could meet you one day or another in NZ.

  14. I just read this very interesting article. "WDCS’s Dr Mike Bossley has been observing Adelaide’s Port River dolphins in Australia for the past 24 years (...) Cultural behaviours in animals have been identified in several species, particularly chimpanzees. However, most if not all the cultural behaviours described to-date have been of a utilitarian nature, mainly to do with obtaining food. (...) As far as we are aware, tail walking has no practical function and is performed just for fun - akin to human dancing or gymnastics. As such, it represents an internationally important example of the behavioural similarities between humans and dolphins. (...) The demonstration of culture in non human animals has important ramifications for conservation”, Bossley concludes." 20. Yep, I used Aquabasis plus (only 10 L.) mixed with the first layer of manado. There's about 8-10cm of soil in the back. Then I add root balls (JBL, the ones for ponds, they are bigger) for each plant with big root system as cryptocorine, echino etc. I add new ones every quarter. 2 or 4 drops of Ferropol 24 daily (but sometimes I forget, no big deal, and you can use another fertilizer). Depend on the amount of vegetation. DIY C02 I change every month. When the tank is mature, (when bacteria have colonized the different layers of the soil), I hardly ever siphon off it. I use the substrate as a filter as well.
