  1. Day 6 (we don't count the days they don't do anything) and they have almost finished painting the pergola, they painted the pond concrete to seal it, and finished most of the verandah and one of the viewing decks.
  2. 1. yes 2. girls are wider (and cuter)
  3. I use 'daylight' or 'bright white' (depends on brand) and get them at Mastertrade.
  4. Temporary bacterial bloom. It should clear itself over the next week.
  5. How do we know they're your fish hmmm?
  6. Will have to wait until I am home to check that one Pinsara. I have a meds database on the home unit to compare the two. Will be home tonight.
  7. Female guppies get a hunched back later in life especially if they have bred constantly. You know what a guppy should look like. Any that don't look like that are deformed and should be culled.

    Comets

Comets need a big tank not a small bowl too!!
  9. It's a free standing wood burner. They are tiled on the sides aren't they so most heat comes out the front? Try putting a thick sheet of polystyrene on the end nearest the fire. Our free standing wood burner didn't bother the tanks beside it.
  10. Erythromycin. Get it from your GP. Have to pay for a prescription though. I would offer you some but I have already given it all away (I work for a Dr).
  11. Shop around for the gazoo's as they can be quite expensive
  12. Perhaps you will get some leopardlights or glowpards
  13. In the heat of summer you shouldn't need to srart with a heater if your room temp sits at aound 25+C. It is the night time temps you have to be careful with. "Coldwater" in this instance means about 18C.
  14. Welcome Poppy. Good luck with the marine
  15. Hi and welcome Fran. The Wainuis usually belong to the Kapi-Mana Aquarium Club (and I think some also belong to the Wgnt Aquarium & Watergarden Soc) but there is enough of them to split into their own group now I reckon!
  16. If they're doing it right they won't notice the camera
  17. Wok he thinks the search and rescue helicopter is a great idea  He has been called out to a big fire out of control at Havelock. Lots of helicopters out there, plus at one in Cable Bay. Not sure what fish to use. Why not baby salmon?
  18. So how's the fish doing? Any luck yet?
  19. Speaking of jetties...Grant suggested we build a small one to scale and get a radio controlled boat. He then thought we could build a mini salmon farm and whenever we wanted a bit of excitement we could go and cut the ropes and let it float free. He could then get some radio controlled tugs to push it back in place. His next suggestion was to build a model railway track around it  WTM: that was cruel to tease your turtle like that 8) The decking will overhang at both ends. No further progress as they have been on another job this week while the concrete cures.
  20. They are all being eaten. You need a heavily planted tank for any great number to survive.

    Flow rates

I paid $170 for the filter though, the other $15 was freight. I could have searched online but preferred to deal with someone I knew.

    Flow rates

$185. There are cheaper brands but I wanted this one.
