  1. Is she getting cold? Is there somewhere warm she can sleep at night? I have one of those pet heatpads if you want to buy it.
  2. Yeah Stella, now try telling your workmates you are a genuine cover girl
  3. When I was a child (yes, many years ago) we had our own cow and she was milked daily. We then separated the cream (nothing like thick, fresh cream on your porridge) and also made our own butter. No idea how we did it as I was a child and didn't care
  4. Mark is correct, contact one of the people listed under the club section of the home page. Or you just turn up at the next meeting
  5. Perhaps the plastic bags makes them slip through the system faster
  6. You would get the next issue when it comes out Cam, which is August.
  7. Hope he gets better then. Our cat would never drink fresh water. She preferred the fishponds or puddles

    Condensation

and does the system work well?
  9. Yes, you get to keep the Sellotape and bag
  10. Probably not at this stage. Thinness can be a sign of internal parasites or worms or stress from birth. Try to separate her and see if you can feed her up. Not sure what to suggest if you want to try and medicate her. I assume all the other fish are fine?
  11. As you ought to know  NZPost changed its mail rates and made the allowable thickness less, so the mags were too fat when folded to go at 50c. This meant our postage doubled (plus the cost of the bags). They have just changed the criteria for permit post though and I believe we can now apply for that, whereas we couldn't before as we didn't have the volume required. They dropped the minimum number from 500 to 300. I am making my way through all the forms but I am pretty sure we can permit post for 65.7c per mag. There are a lot of rules re size and placement of permit logo etc that I have to wade through. I may also have to put the permit post logo on the magazine itself so a design change to the cover may be required or cut the advertising on the back to half a page (losing revenue) and mail merging names and addresses plus logo onto the covers as they print. PS. Sorry Dennis but your magazine will be late - bounced back cos we forgot to put the stamps on it  . At least the yellow "insufficient postage" stickers peel off the plastic easily, unlike when they were on paper they stuck like the proverbial s**** to a blanket
  12. I wouldn't have thought it was that cold in Auckland is it? I have never seen a cat shiver, even when it was sitting on the frosty grass so I would suspect it is sick.
  13. Thanks for the ideas. I have emailed the landscapers but they probably won't remember.

    Breeding kribensis

Nothing special. When they are ready they are ready. Just hope they pick a corner of the tank to breed in, if they aren't on their own
  16. Some bubble walls produce much finer bubbles than others so are quieter. They also clog faster
  17. I have just discovered the rules change in July and we will be eligible to apply for permit post which will cut the cost of postage! Still working out what is involved. May have to print magazines with the permit post logo on the magazine itself. There are heaps of rules and regulations I am checking out
  18. We have considered that. It all depends on what it can be converted to as it is a very large file, even when pdf'd :-?
  19. I seem to remember they were white. They are very similar but grow differently. The one with the flower shown grew nicely up the string and onto the pagoda but the other sent runners out in all directions and I have had to lift them up off the ground and wrap them around the climbing string.
  20. Which one? They are two different plants. EDIT: Forget I asked that as you mean the one with the flower (I Googled)
  21. I know this section is for aquatic plants but these climbers are beside my pond so I figured that was close enough  Can someone tell me what these two climbers are and whether they die off over winter? They did last year but I'm not sure if that was because they were supposed to or because they were hit by the particularly bad frost we had that took the tops from some of my hebes too  First plant is this one... Second plant looks like this... and produces large seed pods I can't remember what the flowers looked like. :-?
  22. Is it the pump that's too noisy or the bubbles? You can turn down the air flow to lessen the bubbles if they are causing the noise. Also try stting the pump on a mat or foam pad, or hang it from a hook so it isn't touching anything.

    Combatable?

I thought it was appropriate
  24. I have one but I rarely use it as it is too far from my tap to the tank and the height difference makes it very slow. We also have low water pressure. I can't use it for siphoning water out as it isn't a strong enough current to lift the crud off the substrate. To refill the tank takes ages too and I tend to forget it. So take into account your water pressure, the distance between your tap and tank, and the height of both.
