    Festive Fishies!

that is so cute, where on earth did you buy it
  2. I just found this via google, perhaps you can give this a try http://www.ehow.com/how_4843356_build-bailey-chair-dogs.html There is a picture of it on this link http://www.ehow.com/how_5467355_care-dog-megaesophagus.html
  3. Something else I remembered. Don't wear valuable jewelery. I used to turn my weddingring around and walk with a fist, so that the diamond was not visible. Have you ever seen a south african woman here in New Zealand, they look like they own jewelry stores with the amount they wear, its cause we did not dare wear it in South Africa. I am glad you don't think its over the top, I think sometimes people that are not from there, don't always understand the fear people live in while there. Also something I remembered, I read it on a family members facebook status. Dont stop at the picnic spots next to the road, rather drive until you get a roadstop with petrolstation, mc donalds and so on, they usually have a little picnic table there as well. Which reminded me of another thing. If you get a flat from driving over something in the road, keep on driving don't stop to fix it. Drive very far ahead and if you have to then stop and fix it, but preferrably drive to a town or garage. Its a very popular way to hijack cars.
  4. What about taking puppy food (smaller pellets) and mixing it with hot water so that it becomes like a thick drink, just make sure to make it very sloppy. Or getting vitamins and Minerals and putting it in water to keep his strength up until he gets stronger and have the need to try and eat again. Even if you have to physically try and feed him with very watered food in a syringe. All the best to you, its a sad day if our pets get ill. Have you tried purified meat, it will be more easier to slide down the throat as pellets. Sorry just trying my best to think of ideas for you
  5. A dark background and dark gravel does magic for bringing colour out. I bought a beautiful background from Hollywoods, its completely black with little sticks of driftwood on it, its wonderful, then I have the midnight gravel as well, makes a huge difference
  6. Even in April it is still warm enough for mosquitos, so please make sure you had malaria treatment before going. Like Cricketman said don't stop and buy from vendors whether at trafic lights or next to the road. Always lock your doors and wind your windows up whether you are in your car or not. Never carry too much money stick to cards, always have two people at an atm and check that there is no devices attached to where the card goes in (my mom lost her whole salary that way just a few months ago) The taxis cricketman is referring too are minibusses. Avoid those, we used to treat them like an ambulance, never show road anger to them, just let them pass and do what they want. I know we sound a bit over the top, but did live there for several years and still have family there. Oh and always put your phone, purse or valuables under your seat while driving, never in view so it can be seen from the outside of the car, that is when you are in the car driving
  7. Oh my did that snake bring back memories. a "Luislang" (Python ) slithered into our house in the dead of summer looking for a cooler place. My brother and I, 7 and 9 at the time freaked when we saw it, but could not get to my mom cause we would have to hop over it to get to her, so we just screamed until she came running, she freaked hopped over it grabbed us hopped over it again and fled out the house. We phoned the parksboard and they came and removed it. They asked us whether we wanted it destroyed or released, we chose release, but we put some special mesh on our outside security doors so it could not slither in again. It was approximately three almost four metres long, too a kid my age is was the biggest snake ever, but they do get much bigger than that
  8. LOL Caryl, just eat it out of revenge for the cold shoulder  Our Christmas dinner has been toned down significantly. I am ill with Strepthroat and doc said I will take atleast ten days to get better. I feel all yuck and tired and my heartrate shoots through the roof if I do just a little to much. Will see closer to the time though, I loved my menu I had planned
  9. Sophia my light is on from about 8am to 7pm sometimes I will switch it off a bit earlier, depending on what time I feed my fishies. Adrienne its amazing they have not eaten each other yet, I take it down to one being male and the other female. But anything that goes in there never last overnight. I thought of putting something bigger in, but those little buggers will just eat it bit by bit and the poor thing will suffer My algae starts out green spots against the glass but if left a bit longer they go stringy, no blue, deffinetly bright green and a darker green for the ones in the plants, I will take a pic tomorrow, I already scraped the glass with the magnet cleaner, and my silly female puffer chased it around while I did it :sml2: Liam I think you might be right, I google imaged it and it looks just like that
  10. Green algae. I have limited sunlight by moving the tank, which helped a little, but it is still coming, on the glass its slimy green and on the plants its stringy slimy dark green algae.
  11. Hi all, I have a small little 20 litre blue planet tank with two pufferfish in it, although they look cute those little guys are vicious Nothing but the two of them survive it in there overnight. I have tried snails and ottos, they just dissapear whole overnight. Now my problem is algae, I have tried having my tank planted, since that helped for the bigger tank, but although its almost completely overgrown in there algae still thrives as well. Does anyone have any idea how I can keep algae to a minimum without having to use the algae scraper every single day
  12. mmm there was one type of biscuit I used before, I just can't remember its name, it took a while longer to get soft, but worked anyways. I will try and see if I can find it via google image if I recognise it or will pop into the shops tomorrow found it Just remember they take a bit longer to get soft, so you will deffinetly have to try and leave the tart in the fridge overnight
  13. Aww blueether, exactly like that, Stella's pic just had more little eyes, but its addorable, I just love it  Stella I checked the regulations and 400mm deep is the maximum before a fence must be put around, do you think that would be deep enough. I have the perfect shaded area, Hubby said he would put a glass panell on one side of the pond (told you he was handy) so we can see them through there unless we all go spotlighting LOL
  14. Tennis biscuits are usually available in the international isle in Pack and Save
  15. LOL Stella its an obsession alright, but the good thing is, the whole family can get involved I might consider the pond idea, it would make my garden beautiful as well  I will look at the minimum dept without a fence and do that, hubby is real excited to make the pond himself, he is very handy. I will post pics to facebook once we start next year, but native I am deffinetly gonna do. My most favourite part in your book so far is the picture of all the eggs with the little eyes in them, that is just toooo cute
  16. Not even my tank is good enough for all those fish, especially the clown loaches. I sincerely hope they get a better home and bigger tank
  17. Wonderful news  Hubby said I could go the pond way, I will make it work to be able to see them. Anyways he is very excited to build one himself with pondliner, and then we can make it nice and big so that it does not warm up to quick, he even suggested a spot for it allready. Only thing is he said next year
  18. LOL everyone, you guys are no help :slfg: Hubby was looking through the book, due to my careful placement of it :sml1: He actually loves the idea as well, said the whole family can get involved with spotlighting and so on, only problem is he said that my main tank must stay as it is, he has spent way too much on it allready, hence the reason for a pickle. I was thinking the pond, but am unsure about how the summer will warm it up. Perhaps a home made one that is quite big and deep aaaaaaahhhh I want natives LOL
  19. I have only now got my tank too look super great. Got all my real plants and my lovely school of Harlequins BUT I started reading Stella's book and now I have fallen in love with the idea of getting some Redfin Bullies, they sound so cute and I would love some. The more I read Stella's book the more I want a native tank. I live in a small house so space is an obvious problem, Lots of ideas are running through my mind to try and make this work. I read in the native forums about ponds, so that is an option I might consider, though I would love them in a tank so I can observe them. Oooooh I am in a pickle :nilly:
  20. My sim went for a ride on her horse, I decided to give the horse free reign and she ended up at the viewpoint, I did not even know you could go there, it looks nice
  21. Nothing, sat up till 3am and just clouds, not even a orange glimmer :cofn: Will have to wait for 2014 now
  22. http://news.msn.co.nz/glanceview/204240/total-lunar-eclipse-in-nz-skies.glance I will stay up till 1 to see how the weather is, but for now its windy and dark rain clouds covering up the sky
