  1. Have you tried raising it?
  2. Yep, I'll start it high above the tank and slowly increase my CO2 and dosing, will also be adding a nano wavemaker. Hopefully I'll be able avoid anything too catastrophic..... I can always go back to the old light...
  3. No worries... I need to trim it more often or it grows over itself and looks rubbish. Wonder how it will go under a halide.......
  4. UPDATE Bad day...... Broke one of my lily pipes and cut my hand. Couldn't find a good position for the wood. Ripped out the glosso and replanted, I hate planting glosso.... At least it came out in one piece.... New pipes on order, along with other goodies
  5. The wood is sick! Cheers... Just ordered a new 70W MH light and a nano wavemaker to up the flow (tunze was way over powered). :bounce:
  6. I know what you mean. Will fiddle around with the placement before making the call
  7. UPDATE Should I add wood?
  8. Eh...... I thought that was the same thing...if not I retract my statement. I mean circulation sorry
  9. Your turnover seems a little low. Increase you filtration if possible, a good way to judge if your flow is strong enough is to look at your plants... they should all be moving like there is a small breeze. Also, when you spot dose with excel turn off you filter so the excel is not blown away. I usually leave mine off for 5 minutes and the BBA has turned red by the following morning
  10. I've had the same algae in all my new setups...... Just imbalances in nutrients. The way I got rid of it was siphioning it out using an air hose. Just attack it every day, should suck up the air hose easy. If plants get pulled just replant them. Also this algae seems to appear when you move hardscape around and stir up mulm etc. Does take a while but you'll get there, not a hard algae to get rid of really...... Good luck
  11. Yep, was lucky enough to grab some when they popped up
  12. UPDATE Big trim today.....
  13. Update Been away for a couple days and the CO2 ran out...instant algae  Not bad though, should be able to get rid of most of it pretty easy. Glosso is growing well and hairgrass is rapid. Will trim hard this weekend
  14. Cos I played street fighter for days bro! Seriously... owned a street fighter 2 arcade thingy, and played it for days....
  15. Hi, If you want to setup a Co2 sytem you need to think outside of ebay as it's not always the cheapest option. The regulator you looked at comes with a bubble counter anyway. The price looks good - bubble counters don't need to be flash as they just count bubbles and pretty much last forever. No need to get flashy about spiral stuff The diffuser is the most important part that you'll buy if you align that with good flow from your filter. Gas bottle is up to you... you can get adaptors for any bottle if you need one.... These systems are reallly easy to setup, it's how you get the ferts and light measures after that which will give you the real results. There are plenty of sites on the web which will give you the info you need.... including this one. may the fish gods be with you....
  16. Just a stab..... Could it be Elatine gratioloides?
  17. Don't forget your check valve, bubblecounter and timer for your solenoid. Worth getting a dropchecker also
  18. Cambodia is next to Vietnam, Laos and Thailand. Very beautiful country with a sad story....
  19. Sweet guppies! How's the algae battle going?
  20. I used one on a 20L, my Rasboras used to get trapped behind the ladder all the time. Glass diffusers all the way!
  21. Those ladders on the nutrafin are a pain to keep clean
  22. How big is your tank? DIY works, many people here use it with great results....
  23. ebay is your friend Here is one of the many good articles out there about settiing up a CO2 system http://www.littlegreencorner.com/setuptips_co2.html
  24. Fair enough... Comprehensive is a good product
